Me and Music

Ok, I couldn't figure which forum to ask this so I jumped here.

I love Christian Metal/Rock. I also like alot of stuff that isn't in this style.

What songs/artists really get you going?

For me, I really love Strypers old song " More than a man"...sometimes brings me to tears

But in the mornings I always throw on Darwin Hobbs "We worship You today"...(yes, I admit im a crybaby, I cry alot and am really fervent in my worship of Him)

Without flames on styles of music, I wonder what songs/bands really hit you right in the heart.

The song "Amazing Grace" also always does it for me, instrumental or without.

I'm really not looking for flames about "wrong" styles of music and such, because we all walk in different ways to Him, but just what any of you really connect to. (basically I'm looking for new music also in this or different styles I may have not heard yet)

Oh, BTW, the P.O.D song "Alive" also just really gets me in the heart.

Sufjan Stevens songs like To Be Alone With You, Seven Swans, The Transfiguration, and For the Widows In Paradise (For the Fatherless in Ypsilanti) among others, all come to mind. I also love his rendition of Come Thou Fount.

I remember I used to be moved by the Five Iron Frenzy songs "On Distant Shores" and "Every New Day", though I haven't listened to either of them in ages.

Actually, hymns like Be Thou My Vision, Come Thou Fount, And Can It Be, and At The Cross have always struck a chord with me as well.

I just pulled up the Sufjan Stevens song "To Be Alone With You" on my musicmatch jukebox account, and like it lots.

I can really see myself hearing this jam when sitting outside in the evenings, looking at the stars alone while the wife and kids asleep. (nightowl)

Tourniquet has a song called "If I Was There" off their Crawl to China album that I've always found pretty touching.

"Less Like Scars" Sara Groves (I listen to all different styles of music and she's a more mellow, acoustic singer, but her lyrics get me every time- ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! You could look her up and just read some of her lyrics)

"Hero" Superchic[k] (This is an awesome song, and Superchic[k] rocks out!)

I also love worship songs like "Empty Me", "Light the Fire", "Light of the World", and "Lord, You're Beautiful".

first may i say i think it's awsome you are a tear jerker when it comes to your worship. may i suggest something like ray boltz or jason upton or mark schultz.

I also found a real "tear jerker" song today by a band Jonah33(they have a website you can hear their cd) amazing, awsome,wonderful song called "Faith Like that"
Gonna look into all these bands/songs

It's a shame by Third Day. I have struggled with some of the issues presented in the song and video (not all of them, thankfully). It really made me see that I was wasting my life and hurting my family by allowing anger and worry to hold me down. It was one of those times where I went to God completely broken and asked for help. I can't say that I still don't struggle every now and again, but it really changed my life.

Awsome. How wonderful is it that we live in the day of the internet where we can find music that fits us very quickly(and legally). This is great thanks to all the posters. Gonna add a bunch of this to my mp3 folder soon as the funds become available.
