We had an ice storm in 1996. (Rarely see snow, but ice storms come about every other year) My car was iced up for three days (did not have a defroster in that old heap), so, by the time it was thawed out, the road was also thawed, so, since it was Sunday, we were gonna go to church. Unfortunately, my house sits facing the east, and has shade in the front all day, so the ice on my porch did not melt!! When I hit the second step, I wound up taking the quick way down!! Broke my left arm at the rotor cuff!! 40 year old bones do not heal quickly!! My daughters 5th grade class took a trip to Baton Rouge to see the USS Kidd. You should have seen me trying to maneuver my way through that ship with one arm!!

OUCH!!! That had to hurt!!! I hurt my shoulder in a car accident and had to have part of my collar bone and part of my shoulder blade removed through surgery and that hurt! But I can't imagine breaking your arm at your rotator cuff!

Well, I didn't have to have surgery for it, but it took forever to heal. You just never know how much you use your left hand, until you can't use it! I didn't even have a cast of any kind. the hospital didn't even give me a sling! Of course, they said it wasn't broken, but it was.
