When Joseph married Mary they became one flesh and thus Mary's genealogy became Joseph's as well as Christ being his son according to the flesh by marriage.

what I like to take away from the genealogies is what they were intended to prove.
Matthews = Jesus is the Messiah/King
Mark= Jesus was a Servant. Servants don't get genealogies.
Luke= Son of man
John= Son of God, He is God and has always been God.
