[FONT=&quot] 6.1[/FONT][FONT=&quot]Be careful that your acts of righteousness are not done in front of people to be seen by them, otherwise you will have no payment from your Father in heaven[/FONT][FONT=&quot]. [/FONT] [FONT=&quot] 2[/FONT][FONT=&quot]Whenever you do your giving to the needy, do not blow your own trumpet like the hypocrites in the congregations and street corners, so that they should get a pat on the back by other people. Surely I say to you they have the payment for their actions[/FONT][FONT=&quot]. [/FONT] [FONT=&quot] 3[/FONT][FONT=&quot]But when you do your acts of righteousness, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing[/FONT][FONT=&quot]. [/FONT] [FONT=&quot] 4[/FONT][FONT=&quot]So that your acts of righteousness are secret and your Father who sees the secret things shall give you your pay[/FONT][FONT=&quot]. [/FONT]

[FONT=&quot] 5[/FONT][FONT=&quot]Whenever you are praying, do not be like those who behave like actors, those who love to be seen in the congregation by people. Surely I say to you they have their payment in full[/FONT][FONT=&quot]. [/FONT] [FONT=&quot] 6[/FONT][FONT=&quot]You, when you are praying, go into the store room and lock the door. Pray to your Father in secret and your Father who sees in the secret place shall give you your pay[/FONT][FONT=&quot]. [/FONT] [FONT=&quot] 7[/FONT][FONT=&quot]When praying, do not be repetitive, using idle words like Gentiles, who suppose that they will be heard because of their many words[/FONT][FONT=&quot]. [/FONT] [FONT=&quot] 8[/FONT][FONT=&quot]Don’t be like them! Your Father understands the things you need before you ask him[/FONT][FONT=&quot].[/FONT]

[FONT=&quot] 9[/FONT][FONT=&quot]Pray like this[/FONT][FONT=&quot]: [/FONT]
[FONT=&quot] Our Father in heaven let your name be set apart and holy[/FONT][FONT=&quot].[/FONT]
[FONT=&quot] 10[/FONT][FONT=&quot]Let your kingdom come. Let your desires come to be, as in heaven, so on earth[/FONT][FONT=&quot].[/FONT]
[FONT=&quot] 11[/FONT][FONT=&quot]Each day give us bread, the food we need[/FONT][FONT=&quot].[/FONT]
[FONT=&quot] 12[/FONT][FONT=&quot]Forgive us our wrongdoing as we forgive the people who act wrongly against us[/FONT][FONT=&quot].[/FONT]
[FONT=&quot] 13[/FONT][FONT=&quot]And do not bring us to testing times, but rescue us from the tempter[/FONT][FONT=&quot].[/FONT]
[FONT=&quot] 14[/FONT][FONT=&quot]For if you ever forgive people their offences, your heavenly Father shall also forgive you[/FONT][FONT=&quot]. [/FONT] [FONT=&quot] 15[/FONT][FONT=&quot]But if you don’t forgive people, your Father won’t be forgiving towards you[/FONT][FONT=&quot].[/FONT]

[FONT=&quot] 16[/FONT][FONT=&quot]Whenever you fast [abstain from food for religious reasons] do not be like the hypocrites who put on a sad face, for they disfigure their faces so that the people who see them know they are fasting. Surely I say to you they have received their payment in full[/FONT][FONT=&quot]. [/FONT] [FONT=&quot] 17[/FONT][FONT=&quot]You, when you abstain, rub your head with oil and wash your face, (groom yourself) [/FONT] [FONT=&quot] 18[/FONT][FONT=&quot]so that it does not appear to other people that your are fasting, but to your Father, the one in secret, sees in secret and will repay you[/FONT][FONT=&quot]. [/FONT]

[FONT=&quot] 19[/FONT][FONT=&quot]Do not store up for yourselves treasures on the earth where the moth and corrosion wear away and where thieves dig through and steal[/FONT][FONT=&quot]. [/FONT] [FONT=&quot] 20[/FONT][FONT=&quot]But store up treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor corrosion cause things to wear away and where thieves are not digging through to steal[/FONT][FONT=&quot]. [/FONT] [FONT=&quot] 21[/FONT][FONT=&quot]Where the treasure is, your heart will be there as well[/FONT][FONT=&quot].[/FONT]

[FONT=&quot] 22[/FONT][FONT=&quot]The lamp of the body is the eye. If the eye is good (and you are generous), the whole body shall be lit up brightly[/FONT][FONT=&quot]. [/FONT] [FONT=&quot] 23[/FONT][FONT=&quot]If the eye is bad (and you are stingy), the whole body shall be full of darkness. If the light in you is darkness, how very dark it is[/FONT][FONT=&quot]. [/FONT] [FONT=&quot] 24[/FONT][FONT=&quot]No one is able to be a slave to two masters, for he shall hate one and love the other, or shall support one and despise (the other). You cannot be a slave to God and wealth [mammon, the unjust accumulation of money][/FONT][FONT=&quot]. [/FONT] [FONT=&quot] 25[/FONT][FONT=&quot]Because of this I say to you do not be anxious and troubled about your life, what you will eat or drink, what you will wear. Isn’t life more than food and clothing[/FONT][FONT=&quot]? [/FONT] [FONT=&quot] 26[/FONT][FONT=&quot]Look at the birds of the air, they don’t scatter seed or reap, neither do they gather into barns, yet your heavenly Father feeds them. You’re more important than they are[/FONT][FONT=&quot]. [/FONT] [FONT=&quot] 27[/FONT][FONT=&quot]Who of you by being anxious is able to add to their height one cubit [18”][/FONT][FONT=&quot], [/FONT] [FONT=&quot] 28[/FONT][FONT=&quot]and about clothing why be anxious. Consider the flowers of the field, they are growing, they don’t work hard, or spin (to weave for clothes)[/FONT] [FONT=&quot] 29[/FONT][FONT=&quot]I say to you that not even Solomon in all his glory was clothed like one of these[/FONT][FONT=&quot]. [/FONT] [FONT=&quot] 30[/FONT][FONT=&quot]If the grass of the field is here today and will be thrown into the clay oven tomorrow, God is able to clothe you, you with little trust[/FONT][FONT=&quot]. [/FONT] [FONT=&quot] 31[/FONT][FONT=&quot]Don't be anxious then, saying, what shall we eat or what shall we drink or what clothes shall we wear[/FONT] [FONT=&quot] 32[/FONT][FONT=&quot]for the people around you are looking for these things. Your heavenly Father sees and understands that you need all these things[/FONT][FONT=&quot]. [/FONT] [FONT=&quot] 33[/FONT][FONT=&quot]Firstly seek out the kingdom and dominion of God and His justice and all these things shall be added to you[/FONT][FONT=&quot]. [/FONT] [FONT=&quot] 34[/FONT][FONT=&quot]So don’t be anxious about tomorrow for tomorrow has enough problems of its own. Today is difficult enough[/FONT][FONT=&quot].
