Massad Ayoob is an expert for self defense. His father owned a jewelry store, and from a very early age he learned how to properly defend himself and his family. His zeal for acquiring knowledge on this subject landed him in a position of training police forces. He has written many books; and I have purchased a few. True but in one of his videos he explains why he prefers that combo to ballistic gel that most testers use. Pork ribs are very close to human ribs in meat density and bone as well. Cavity thickness too. Most people wear cloths, jackets etc. And fruit is much like lung tissue. Gel is gel. Now since it's not advisable to shoot humans for test purposes this simulates a real body better than gel does.
