  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Posted on Marriage Ministry and wanted to post it here too to see the responses.

Ok first I think I should give you a little information about us before I ask the question. I am currently 17, a senior in highschool (homeschooled)/ freshman at our local community college. (doing both at one time!) by so is 19, a freshman at UNC Chapel Hill (2 hr from here) we have been dating for 2 years. We know we are to get married but what I am asking is how do you know that God is telling you when? We are giving some thought to getting married summer of 06, going into his junior year and I will be able to finish my degree (graphics design) online (meaning yes I could move to Chapel Hill) would this be crazy? First and foremost we want to do what GOD wants us to which is why we are putting so much prayer in this, secondly what is best for US and we really aren't considering what the world thinks! lol We are currently in the LDR, it is hard with him being away but we are strong enough as individules and together to make it through this.
I am really wanting to know your thoughts on that kind of marriage. He is wanting to do something in medicine, we would get an appartment off campus, he would go to school during the day and I would work a little and do my school work online. Sorry to make this so long! Would be happy to answer questions regarding our future plans! Thanks and as always prayers are greatly appreciated!

If you feel led by the Lord that this is the man that you will marry, then by all means discuss those sorts of things with your b/f. It's good to see that God is foremost in any plans you make, and I'm sure that continued dependence on His will for you both will reap rewards not only in your relationship with each other, but with God. :)

Love that advice, Blue.

Magic: pray pray pray! I have this way of planning out my life and not letting God get a word in edgewise. It has hindered me in the past from getting what's best for me. My plans are great, but sometimes God's are better. hehe. so my only piece of advice is to spend lots of prayer time in silence with God (as I need to do more of myself) seeking his word to you about every step of your plan. He may give you the go-ahead, he may not. Just listen to his voice :)

I was in a serious LDR with a guy from South Dakota. He wanted to marry me and move there and everything. I never did. We broke up, we still talk and we are great friends and he still has feelings for me. If it was meant to be, maybe it will happen in the future.
I met him shortly after I turned 17.

I was giving a lot of thought to 2006 as well. I was thinking late June or early July of 2006. Originally I wanted 2008, when I finish university but then decided maybe 2006.
