  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

On the night before our wedding, I cried on my fiance. I know I'm independent, I think for myself, I can take care of myself, I've been through health issues like cancer and losing a kidney, and I told my man he didn't need me.

I'm not wife material, I told him. He gently looked at me and said, "You have forgotten I'm a cop. I need you. I need your independence, I need your strong personality, and I need your strength."

Oh my!

Now, I get it. When he comes home late, I don't panic. His job is tough and he often has to do paperwork and junk. He tries to call when he can. He always, so far, comes home.

My life has changed soooooo much ... living with him is a joy! Every night before bed, he leads with prayer and he seems to always find blessings. I don't know, but it feels like Heaven when he's lying next to me doing his little snoring thing that sounds like a cat's purr.

I hope he purrs in his sleep knowing I love him. He is wonderful!

Welcome to marriage! It has its up and downs at times but in the end your true love for each other (and God of course) will keep you together! On a bit of a interesting note my wife married me knowing my health issues including me having only one kidney. I to sort of said the same thing because I knew she would be getting into a lot marrying me. But she said she needed me and it doesn't matter what the world says is wrong with me. Thats true love!

Just remember when you face trials together to think back to this moment when it al felt special. Though I'd say make sure to make every moment special anyways!

Your post gave me tears of joy! Your wife is a dear, wise woman, and you are wonderful.

Ben, my hubby also said that night I cried: "Well, sweetie, I have two kidneys, so I reckon God gave us a spare."

We did have a tiny fuss on our honeymoon. I had been through the surgery and all before our wedding, and he noticed I was tired. Our honeymoon was in Washington, DC, and we were at the memorials. I said I wasn't tired, but he insisted we go back to the hotel. I fussed up a storm, but it's rather hard to argue with a 6'4" cop.

We went back to the hotel, I lay down -- just for a minute, I insisted stubbornly -- and I woke up almost two hours later, ha!

He took me right back to the memorials.

Aww, congratulations!

I agree, marriage is pretty wonderful.

It sure is, especially with God the middle of it. And in the front, and the back, and all around us!

Awesome testimony...and good to see an uplifting thread in this forum for a change :D

Thank you!

I do love being married ... I never thought I'd ever find anyone who would put up with me.

You know there's a thing called unconditional love when your husband even likes your cow.

All good things
