Your sins are forgiven.
Every word that comes out of the mouth of Jesus is grace. I know a man who went bankrupt. Before the bankruptcy he borrowed money from a friend, whose wife was terminally ill. After bankruptcy, the wife died. When he remembers it, he has a pang in his conscience. To this man, Jesus says, Your sins are forgiven.
What more does it have to be a gospel? But some scribes said Jesus blasphemed by saying it. To Johns disciples, Jesus said, Happy are those who are not offended by me.
Lord, I am not offended. Speak more to me. Let all your words recorded in the bible speak to me. I will listen. I desire to listen since your words are full of grace. Truly cursed are those who do not hear grace from your words.
The Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins.
What a grace! I do not have to climb up or go down to find the grace. Jesus has forgiveness for me right here now. All I need is to admit my sins.
Lord, if I say I have no sins, I have nothing to do with you. Even when I am not aware of my disobedience, just because I kneel in humbleness, you send a cleansing spirit and show me how inadequate my love for you is. Lord, help me love you more.
We have not seen anything like this.
Did they just see? Did they not hear? Which is greater, his deeds or his words? Were their ears dull?
Oh, my soul. Do not fail to hear the words of Jesus. Let every word of his come to you with conviction and grace. Let his words be the root of your joy and peace.
Lord Jesus, I have not heard anything like this. My soul honors you. Amen.
Father, I cannot describe this fellowship with your Son in my own words. It fills my soul with grace. And it fills my soul with submission. I thank you for your love. Amen.
