You know I never expected this name to pop up here, guess nothing can suprise me now. There is very little music I will flat out not allow in my house, and MM is one of maybe ten artists that fall into this category. However this does not stem from his music, it stems from actually having met him in person. There is a demonic presence to this man and I would advise staying far away from him or his music. I cannot tell you the way it felt being in the same room with him, it was like suffocating. I even began to feel physically ill, which subsided right after I walked away.

The odd part about this is that it took place while I was not walking with the Lord at all. I was obviously in a place where I would be exposed to MM socially. The reasons I was there are not legal nor will I discuss them, but suffice it say that I was nowhere near walking with the Lord and still had these feelings. It hit me like a brick and left after I fulfilled the reason I was there and left. When I was younger and in church I scoffed at demonic presence, and continued to do so until that day. It was nothing less than a demonic presence.

I promise I am not just a hater of the style of music either. This was very real and very scary.

My musical tastes are vast, my all time favorite band is Social Distortion and their message is not Christian. I am not one to talk bad about music, but this guy has some major demons. I cannot keep my mouth shut when this comes up. I am an onld-school punk rocker and this guy gave me the heebie jeebies. It is the only time i have ever been scrared in my life without something actively making me scared.

Manson does what he does very well. I don't believe for one minute the man is demon possessed. He is a business man and a performer, and he is paid to scare the living daylights out of people. And it works.

If you ever see him in his home, he is not some Satanist like people believe. He is just as normal as the next person. When he is out in public, he has a reputation to keep up with his stage persona.

At first, his music was very rebelious and just strange. Then he started moving against religion. Was it because he hated God? Not really; he knew what would sell and be contriversial(sp?) and it worked. If you notice from his new album, he has really toned down on the God bashing compared to his other albums. People started getting bored with the whole religion war thing. He did what he aimed to do, and I think it went farther than even he expected. Everywhere you looked, every church on the planet was calling him evil and some even called him the anti-christ himself. Fact is, he's just a musician who knows how to keep people coming to his shows and buying his cd.

Satan will not waste his time on people who are already apart from Christ, but spend time trying to get the ones who are with Christ, away from Him. - Bruce Wilkinson

all I have to say is that MM is very weird. We have a video tape with him on it and I have to say he probably knows more about the Bible and Christianity than most christians do, so he knows how to gets us to fight over his music and life style. and I do believe that many secular artists could be demon possessed and he is probably one of them.

I find that sometimes I dont listen to someone's music because I cannot stand the philosophy of that person. MM being an example. I don't think its an upright sin to listen to his music but I cant find many chirstians who do. Its like an apple listening to an orange sing about how much he hates apples.

I have a little experience with musicians but my brother has done alot shoulder-rubbing with some members of prominent bands. More than a few of which have had experiences with MM either in the studio's or private functions where he had no reason to perpetuate his stage image. If you ask those guys, he is even more dark in person than on-stage. Most of these guys are Christians, and I believe most Christians have a sensitive spirit of discernment via the Holy Spirit. According to some of you MM is purely a gimmick, a showman. So how long does one have to be "in character" before they are no longer merely an entertainer? Gee, why in the world would satan want to possess someone with all the influence that MM has? Forgive my sarcasm but to think that MM is in it merely for stirring the beehive of Christianity for kicks is looking at this through a narrow scope. MM is what he is onstage. He did it in a dramatic satirical manner for a get-rich-quick gimmick, yes. Its something that musicians have been doing before "Mary" was even born. But you know a man by their fruits.

I think it's very enlightening to compare Marilyn Manson with Alice Cooper. It's interesting to note that, when Pat Boone did his "heavy metal" tour, he did some touring with Alice Cooper, and it turns out they're both Christians, and they spent a lot of time talking about their faith.

I don't know that much about Manson, but I know that it's pretty easy for me to mistakenly think something is evil. I'd have to know more about him to be willing to call him anything but another shock rocker.

I listen to him a fair bit - I have antichrist superstar, mechanical animals and holywood. From what I know I am pretty sure he is not a satanist, rather an athiest who plays up to an image to win notariety. Not that it is OK for him to do this, nor does it preclude there being demonic influences upon him. The Bible is clear about the very real existence of a spiritual world, some following their creator, some at war with Him, that can and does have influence upon our world. If some of my brothers say they have felt this then I would be hesitent to dismiss it; but I would also be hesitant to think they were necessarily right.

It is such a shame that MM has a lot of right on things to say about worldly hipocrasy and shallowness, but looks in completely the wrong direction in response to it. He is like some kind of demonic prophet, and a lot of people flock to him and his nihlistic message. A lot of the blame for this must fall upon the church - we have largely failed to be salt and light and are too often compromised to the world; both in 'liberal' and 'conservative' ways - a lot of people only think of the former when they talk of compromise but it runs both ways. Jesus and the message of Christianity are radical and subversive to all forms of worldly thought and ideology and until the Church lives up to that (which I guess it will never to particularly well until Christ comes again, but we can always try and improve) people will turn to MM and many like him. He is a warning and a wake up call that we would do well to heed. And hear some great music while we are at it

well I think satanist is one of the worst things you can call someone so I want to be completely sure before I call anyone that. Because so many christians hate him and the fact that I've heard a couple of stories about him, especially from christians, is why I won't believe it just because a christian says that MM is a satanist.

this is one of the stories I heard about him

If you can listen to a man that rips apart Bibles, mocks at God and the things of God, you need to do some checking up!

A majority of people mock God and the things of God - and whilst they may not actually rip appart Bibles they think it to be an irrelevant book of fairy tales. Should I listen to nothing these people have to say? That means paying no attention to a lot of people - those who need us to be shining stars. We should listen, answer that which is un-Godly with Biblical, Christ like wisdom, and when there is fair critisism repent and change our ways.

I think everyone has something to say. If you ignore them because they mock God, or you cast them away as if they're some disease to society, you're no better than that person.
You don't have to accept his words, but how can you reach out to him if you don't hear his story? I'm not saying that everyone needs to listen to Manson. But I think it's odd that you should tell those that listen that they have some "checking up" to do.
