Never been impressed with him, I even walked right past him at a festival once, on the way to see KoRn.

There's a few songs laying around in my music collection ("Coma White" and "Dope Show", for instance), but on the grand scale of Industrial bands, there's quite a number of others that I'd rank higher. Skinny Puppy, Stabbing Westward, The Dreaming, Gravity Kills, KMFDM (and MDFMK), Porcelain and the Tramps, Orgy, etc. To each their own, though.

-rep for saying "Oh my goth". :p

I like Manson's older stuff. His new stuff just seems to be a struggle to put a cd out without the content and meaning he use to have. I suppose that happens with a lot of artists, but he needs to start writing good music again. Same goes for Reznor which is why I'm kinda glad NiN is done. Some of these later albums were utter crap.

Now days, I'm more into stuff like Celldweller.

...super horrible and one of the most embarrasing things to come out of late 90's "alternative" music- a pretty impressive feat considering that genre consists of nothing but incredibly lame attempts to connect with TEH KIDS

I like... :D As far as MM in comparison to others treading similar ground...
I tend to avoid comparing others to others in the vein of so and so is way better than so and so etc etc. Every band has something to offer. That is if they are not blatantly adopting another band's sound and presence.
But then agin, I think Einsturzende Neubauten are genuine pioneers of industrial music. No one since has done what they have. YouTube their EARLY performances when they were young and wild. They were raw and genuine and did NOT rely on makeup or pyrotechnics to impact others. They kicked hard live in the streets on highways, beneath highway bridges, in abandoned water towers with sledgehammers, jacvk hammers, pavement cutters, scrap metal, fire etc. True industrialists!

Lol! Curses etc are automatically edited here?! That just cracks me up.
I was wondering what that 'wash my mouth' thing I saw earlier was.
Yes, I'm new Lol. That's why I can't post the Neubauten video here myself.
Apparently I have to prove my validity as a physical entity before having the privilige of posting links.
Pfft

Einsturzende Neubauten is very meh. Their gimmick wasn't makeup or pyro, it was banging on random things to make noise.None the less, a gimmick it was which is pretty much the only reason they got noticed by anyone. Their music by itself was really nothing special.

I liked him when I was about 15-16, but then I grew out of it...his music just didn't do anything for me at all. I still gotta admit his cover of Sweet Dreams is great, but thats about it.

Yes, it is. Just the facts, mate.

No. What you have written is not facts.

"Einsturzende Neubauten is very meh." -personal opinion
"Their music by itself was really nothing special." -personal opinion

And tucked in between these two statements of personal opinion was your superficial assessment of their validity as a band. An assessment you base on what YOU assume were and are their intentions as a band.

You dismissed them and simplified them. A band that has over 20 years of experience recording, performing, collabarating and creating. A band that is still active

I myself have learned not to be dismissive of others... artists AND people.
It can be difficult at times.

I certainly am not going to engage in a debate about a specific artist.
The debate or discussion lies not there but in the evidence that you and likely others so easily dismiss and belittle the creations of others.

I have over 17 years experience as a college radio dj. I did 2 hours of radio,AT THE MINIMUM, each week of those 17 years. And I also have attended a great numer of live performances along with performing noise live myself as AUTOSUTURE.

And... within those years I've engaged in many conversations and debates concerning the vailidity of noise, experimental and industrial music.

I've learned that some people are simply just not willing to accept anything outside their realm of experience.
