I have insomnia, and have had it for almost two months now. Nothing prescribed works and they won’t prescribe me ambien.

I gave up smoking weed in April, after smoking it for three years non-stop and became a Christian. I know being a drug user is a sin.

I am seriously considering getting a vape with a strain that puts you out. Would it be a sin to use it just for sleep or am I in a no-win situation of get my sleep by sinning or live with being unable to function from lack of sleep and eventually dropping dead from no sleep?

My prayers for sleep are being ignored. Not being able to go to sleep is the worst thing in the world. If you have never suffered from it, you do not understand it.

The Holy Spirit is a source of comfort. Be filled with the Holy Spirit and a great peace will follow.

For I have satiated the weary soul, and I have replenished every sorrowful soul. Upon this I awaked, and beheld; and my sleep was sweet unto me. - Jeremiah 31:25-26

Without knowing the cause, its quite difficult to give some advice (is it because you are constantly under stress or because you have too much blue light in the evening or because your neighbors are too loud during nights or because you do not exercise so your body is not sleepy or because you have too much sugar, caffeine...).

Have you tried apigenin (or a chamomile tea)? Its a weak sedative and anti-inflammatory.

To your question specifically, its not a binary choice "either this or that". Your insomnia has some specific causes. You can solve them.

Because you were a user of weed, its the thing you can think of that helps. But its not "a weed or death" choice.

To your other question, I do not think its a sin to use it for medical purpose, which is kind of what you would use it for. But check with your country/state that its legal, there. And certainly solve the causes of your insomnia, its better than to become dependent on some substance to function well.

This is not something anyone can answer.. we try but in truth we cannot. I use to have hmm lol not good dreams and this woman of God told me to read Psa 4 every night which I have done for over 50y now. At first I kept getting the dreams yet oddly any bad part was blurred out. In the dream I thought how cool.

"My prayers for sleep are being ignored. " If I said that.. God then will only do what I said He will not go against my will. So I shared mine Psa 4:8 then there's Psa 3:5 I lie down and sleep I will wake again because the lord sustains me. Or Pro 3:24 why you lie down you will not be afraid when you lie down your sleep will be sweet.

See when I started to read every night praying Psa 4 nothing changed that moment.. yet in the spirit everything did. I kept reading it every night for my GOD cannot lie. So just these 3 verses what He said if you speak His word and no matter what you see or feel know you will have a very peaceful wonderful sleep. He will always keep His word. We just tend to put God on some time clock.. don't just KNOW your going to start sleeping because your GOD said so period.

I fully understand 100% what your talking about..but weed or vaping.. never would do that. I had for years taken just sleeping pills but... those help but you feel very sleepy the next morning lol

You say you gave up marijuana in April. That's only 3 months ago... insomnia is a common - the most common - withdrawal symptom of marijuana and while other withdrawal symptoms subside in a short period of time, insomnia and other sleep disturbances can last months.

Basically, you have to retrain your brain to sleep naturally, since marijuana is a natural sleep aid for more reasons than one, and replaced the bodies need to create the right hormones and brain signals for sleep.

It'll take time, but it should get better eventually...

As far as if its too hard for you to deal, perhaps an addiction recovery center would be more helpful than a regular physician.
