  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

Having read and listened with the ears of my heart to the Mass readings today, I posted them all but realizing it would be too long a post to include (as I had planned) Part 2 of St. Louis de Montfort’s Consecration Prayer – it seemed best to simply post it separately. Below I continue with Part 2 as promised:

…Grant my desire for Divine Wisdom and in support of my petition, accept the promises and offering of myself which I now make, conscious of my unworthiness.

I, an ungrateful sinner, renew and ratify today through you my baptismal promises, I renounce forever Satan and his empty promises and his evil designs and I give myself completely to Jesus Christ, the Incarnate Wisdom, to carry my Cross after Him for the rest of my life, and to be more faithful to Him than I have been till now.

This day, with the whole court of heaven as witness, I choose you, Mary, as my Mother and Queen. I surrender and consecrate myself to you, body and soul, with all that I possess, both spiritual and material, even including the spiritual value of all my actions, past present and to come. I give you all that belongs to mewithout any reservations in whatever way you pleas, for the greater glory of God in time and in eternity.

Accept, gracious Virgin this little offering of my slavery to honor and imitate that obedience which the eternal Wisdom willingly chose to have towards you, His Mother. I wish to acknowledge the authority which both of you have over this little worm and pitiful sinner. By it I wish also to to thank God for the privileges bestowed on you by the holy Trinity. I solemnly declare that for the future I will try to honor and obey you, in all things as your true slave of Love.

O admirable Mother, present me to your dear Son as His slave now and for always, so that He Who redeemed me through you will now receive me through you. Mother of Mercy, grant me the favor of obtaining the true Wisdom of God and so make me one of those whom you love, teach and guide, whom you nourish and Protect as your children and slaves.

Virgin most Faithful, make me in everything so committed a disciple, imitator and slave of Jesus, your Son, that I may become through your intercession, and example fully mature with the fullness which Jesus possessed on earth, and with the fullness of His Glory in heaven. Amen.

This is the last day of our 33 days of Preparation before we pray this prayer tomorrow on the Feast of the Annunciation March 25.

I hope anyone who has not read this prayer before, may take it to heart. I hope some at least may pray this prayer for the first time or after having prayed it many times before, with great Love for Jesus through Mary.

Come Holy Spirit, fill us as you filled Mary with Jesus, Who is our Way, our Truth and our Life. May we live in Jesus remaining in Him through Mary. Amen.
