Amen WE are CALLED to love one another and we are called to be a living sacrafice, Holy and exceptable unto God. Jesus is the victor over Satan the father of pride. WE receave oil for our lamps through hearing the words of Jesus. They are spirit and they are life.
Because we are feeding on his word we are ready to be CHOSEN when our Lord comes for his BRIDE.
Praise the lord that he has called us to be his light in this dark world. This forum is reaching many lost sheep. Souls are being saved by our witness of Jesus Christ in us with power.

i have yet another angle:

this is the way i see matt.22:1-13

v8 says that there were some invited who were not worthy.
why?
because they turned down the invitation. vs3,5

thats why many are called but few are chosen. in this text the word 'chosen' means valued and favorite.
not necessarily meaning 'out of so many i chose few'.

why are they valued and favorite?
because they accept the value of the sacrifice of Jesus, and receive His favor/grace.

matt.22 is a parable, but after His resurrection such a thing actually happened.

He was seen of 500 people, yet only 120 gathered at the upper room. other than the 11 original disciples, (minus judas iscariot), there were just 91.
wow. this is the resurrected Jesus showing Himself to 500. and only 91 show up to hear what He further had to say and see Him ascend into heaven.

so of those invited, few came, and they were the chosen (because they came - not because they are special in themselves).
matt.22:14

---

matt.22 has some verses in it vs11-13 that i couldnt figure out how to apply.. i suppose it happens in any open party.. invitations are sent out but someone not invited somehow crashes it.

there was once some athiests that i talked to wanting to know if i'd be willing to die in their place so that they could get into heaven.

i think that is the same as someone who "gets into the party" by using someone elses invitation.

in which case, the scheme doesn't work because 'the king' vs11 looks over the dinner guests, and He knows all those that He invited. so the pretender/ jacob-supplanter who gets in by trickery is thrown out.

The GARMET OF PRAISE is the Holy garment. Praise the Lord, Jesus is Lord. REPENT and ENTER THE KINGDOM OF HEAVEN TODAY. Let our conversation be as ORACLES of OUR FATHER IN HEAVEN. YOUR SINS ARE FORGIVEN .GO AND SIN NO MORE.
JESUS has said, "ASK OUR FATHER IN HEAVEN and TELL HIM I SENT YOU.". Mary, JESUS mother said, "DO WHAT HE SAYS".
PUT ON THE HOLY GARMET, "GIVE THANKS IN EVERYTHING FOR THIS IS THE WILL OF GOD IN CHRIST JESUS CONCERNING YOU".
HOW do we ask OUR FATHER? We PRAY alone and together.
And remember make a JOYFULL NOISE

Good Day, xsynerinc and Susana

As time permits after work I will do an exergertical look at the Whole passage. Remember this was not just a party this is a Royal wedding that would adhere to historical and Traditional protcols of the Jewish people, you seemed to have forgetten that point. It is great disadvange IMO to try to understand things such as this with out the back drop of the context.

You have yet to interact with the role of the king and the garments that this man's, not having them.

Mat 22:11 And when the king came in to see the guests, he saw there a man which had not on a wedding garment:
Not sure how you come to the conclusion this man's name is Jacob.

'chosen' means valued and favorite.

Source for this understanding as it does not appear in any Greek resource I have. To come to your understanding of the "chosen" would require an other Greek word "timaō" that does not appear in the chapter at all.
Chosen:

eklektos
Thayer Definition:

1) picked out, chosen

1a) chosen by God

1a1) to obtain salvation through Christ

Peace to u,

Bill

Back to you brothe Bill,
Our Father dwells in the praises of his people. HIS SON, Our King, Jesus Christ has invited us to his wedding. When we do what Jesus says to do it glorifies OUR FATHER IN HEAVEN and we are CHOSEN. When we reject the gracious free gift of JESUS and do not put on the garmet of SALVATION he has given us to wear we are cast out of HIS KINGDOM.
It is the GRACE of JESUS that is calling us to follow HIM. Let us put on Jesus Christ
as our new wine skin and truly be new creatures in Christ. GIVE THANKS IN EVERYTHING for this is the will of GOD in Christ Jesus concerning you.

Yes Jesus is the King in the Matt. parable. As HE is KING OF KINGS he knows more about KINGING than any other King. OUR FATHER IN HEAVEN has made it so. The main way we make our garments white is to accept the BLOOD OF JESUS. That is we drink of his blood by following his example no matter what it costs. Have we not counted the cost? Jesus Christ did not give us a message easy to digest. Children have no problam understanding it. Its hired pastors and church boards that have a problam with the words of Jesus as they try to make his words pleasing to mens ears. Those pastors are then left with confused superstious congregations who dont know what to do except hope they will be raptured out of debt before the ax falls. The disciples who are chosen know they are going to slain by those brethren who like Judes love money, family and comfort more than they love OUR FATHER IN HEAVEN. The FEARFULL AND UNBELIVING SHALL NOT ENTER THE KINGDOM OF HEAVEN. There are a few pastors who
do what Jesus instructs but they are a rare breed and hard to find. If you do a study of the word pastor, you will discover that Gods word does no speak well about any pastor other than Jesus. But thats another subject. Praise the Lord.

Bless you brother Bill
As I said It is a parable, Jesus Christ is Father, Son and Holy Spirit, these three are one. Jesus said if you have seen me you have seen the FATHER.
If you would like more comments as to the staging of this parable. Then consider Jesus as OUR FATHER THE KING, then Consider Jesus as the Kings only begotten Son, who is to be married, then consider US as those who have been invited, CALLED to the wedding. Then consider those of us who have his Holy Spirit and follow his instruction as his chosen BRIDE. Those who are not chosen are castout and have no part in the marrage feast. They might be saved on Judgement day only God knows.
Thats my understanding of the parable.
But I am not the final word, Jesus is Lord.

The Lord has given me this scripture repeatedly last week after 2 awesome visons.
The first vision I was swimming in a large body of water with many women, there was a lot of people on the bank looking out at us. The next moment I was drowning and no one was aware of it, all the other women were gone and I was going under for the 3rd time. The next moment a large man was in the water and brought me back up and told me I was ok, I was safe now, and held my head above the water, as we neared the shore he called out to the people "this is my bride". As we got closer to the shore, he told me I could have anything I wanted, everything my heart desired. Then I could see on the bank everything I use to own and lost this last year, that was stolen from me and destroyed. I said I want Jesus. Then I was sitting on a large wooden plank floating in the water and was all alone, there was bodies floating all around me, the lost and the dead, and a hand was holding on to my plank. I moved it off and let it sink, then a big light shown on me and found me.

The next vision I was in the mountains and it was deep with snow. There was a bear that had been a threat to people causing michief. My ex husband the mighty hunter, cut off its paws and fed it to the bear, and came back a "hero" to the people. LIttle did he know it made the bear come back to hunt humans and destroy them. In the meadow was 2 large buses longer than any greyhound, and the one bus driver said you can never go back, I know the way and will show you, and it took off deeper into the mountains, to find people. Mean while the other bus, my ex husband was the driver, and it was filling up full of people, all of them had their eyes bugged out and in panic. The first bus came back and I got on it, hardly anyone was on, we all sat calmly with our hands folded, there was plenty of room, but still everyone was getting on the other bus. People were even jumping on the outside of the bus and hanging on to the out side of it... Finally we started to leave as we knew teh way... But the other bus pushed us off the road, so we let it go ahead of us, and as it passed, the front of the bus said... "PRIDE".......
Praise the Lord I am on the right bus!
So all the next day, I was given the word over and over "Many are called, but few are chosen". The following day, the Lord gave me this scripture...
Matthew 7:13

13Enter through the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and spacious and broad is the way that leads away to destruction, and many are those who are entering through it.

Whoohhoooooo Praise his holy name....

Many are called...(invited) to the salvation through the Lord Jesus Christ. But few are chosen.... as God knows every man/woman's heart, and who it is that will TOTALLY and UNASHAMABLY SUBMIT to His Lordship. To do the good works which God has prepared in ADVANCE for us to do.
