Well, Wikipedia says it, so it must be the whole truth and nothing but the truth.
This is a strange thread ;o), maybe I'm a simple person, but
We are to pray Our Father who art in heaven ... therefore my Father is in heaven
John 10:30
30 I and the Father are one.”
also ....
Revelation 21:14
14 The wall of the city had twelve foundations bearing the names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb.
and ...
2 Timothy 3:16
All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness,
therefore ....
I'm sticking with the Word of God, Jesus and the twelve. Amen!
You would do yourself good to study the sanctuary in the old testament as it is the plan of redemption for all man kind.
Psalm 77:13
Thy way, O God, is in the sanctuary: who is so great a God as our God?
This claim would be easy for you to refute by providing sources, quotes and links to where it was taught before the 1800's Looking forward to what you have.

So, what Christ is doing now is exactly what He was divinely reported to have been doing 1900+ years ago. And He could not possibly have been bothered to take upon Himself any additional duties. Interesting. It appears to me that the church fathers themselves do not even make that claim, at least not from what you have shared.
Again:
The investigative judgment is simply about God voluntarily placing Himself under the scrutiny of His creatures throughout the universe who do not have the powers of omniscience or omnipresence upon which to assure their safety and security.
Try to keep up.
Having read and re-read The Great Controversy over the last thirty years, there is absolutely no doubt whatsoever in my mind as to what Mrs. White taught about the investigative judgment. I have also read many other books on the specific subject. So much so that, perhaps, I'm comfortable stating it's purpose both in the most simple of terms and in great detail.Since there seems to be some doubt about what SDA founder Ellen White taught about the Investigative Judgment," try this.
Ellen White:
"Both the prophecy of Daniel 8:14, “Unto two thousand and three hundred days; then shall the sanctuary be cleansed,” and the first angel's message, “Fear God, and give glory to Him; for the hour of His judgment is come,” pointed to Christ's ministration in the most holy place, to the investigative judgment, and not to the coming of Christ for the redemption of His people and the destruction of the wicked."

Make a list of all your SDA doctrines, you will not find that combo in the Early Church Fathers, Whom the Apostles taught. Yes, this is a challenge!!!

Tertullian does not believe in the Adventist doctrine of soul sleep.
"What, then, is to take place in that interval? Shall we sleep? But souls do not sleep even when men are alive: it is indeed the business of bodies to sleep, to which also belongs death itself, no less than its mirror and counterfeit sleep."
--Tertullian, A Treatise on the Soul, Chapter 58: Conclusion & Points Postponed
So, the apostles taught those we know as Early Church Fathers and they do not teach Adventist doctrines.
Who's this "we" you're talking about? Never have I encountered such a talent for stating emphatically both the obvious and, at the same time, inconsequential. So, the apostles taught those we know as Early Church Fathers and they do not teach Adventist doctrines.
Having read and re-read The Great Controversy over the last thirty years, there is absolutely no doubt whatsoever in my mind as to what Mrs. White taught about the investigative judgment. I have also read many other books on the specific subject. So much so that, perhaps, I'm comfortable stating it's purpose both in the most simple of terms and in great detail.
This is why I can say with all confidence and even some substantial degree of authority that presuming to sum up what she taught on the matter with a single, several-dozen-word quote (which, by the way, contains absolutely no explanation of the doctrine itself) hand-picked by someone who (let's be honest, shall we), in all likelihood, has less interest in examining the thing fairly, than pigs have wings, is the height of folly, and I'll just leave that as a word to the wise.
I can't understand what's so hard to understand about this:
God doesn't need to do a formal investigation into the fitness of individual members of the human race for inclusion in the community of the perfect, holy universe beyond our grasp. So if He chooses to do so, and have records made of it, then it must be for the benefit of full disclosure and His concern for the comfort of the objects of His incredible love, His creatures.
For the benefit of anyone who might be interested in the intricacies of this labor of love, one of the best books written about this is called The Cross And Its Shadow by S.N. Haskell. For those who might not have the time, nor the inclination for such an extensive treatment, Cleansing the Temple, a traditional-style Bible study, might be more digestible. For folks who like to watch and hear lectures, Roy Gane is arguably the foremost modern scholar on this subject. His Altar Call series is excellent. Others with an excellent grasp in this arena are Clifford Goldstein, Mike Manea, and a truly gifted speaker, Doug Batchelor.
Much of the instruction found on the investigative judgment is presented amidst the larger framework of the general atonement, so it is sometimes difficult to find isolated material on this doctrine. But the extra exposure to the ordered plan of redemption should prove to be highly beneficial to the observer.
Many object to the notion of a need for an Israelite institution to aid in the understanding of the Gospel, but there are manifold reasons for this, not the least of which is the fact that what was transpiring at Calvary was much too much for the five senses of human frailty to take in. The supernatural forces at work there were thickly-veiled, lest they had consumed the poor, ignorant standers-by altogether. If this were not the case, the Bible could have been a much smaller volume.
It is time for Christians to cease painting their God with broad, clumsy strokes and proud words as if we know Him like the palms of our hands. I'm speaking to myself, here. To him who has an ear, let him hear.

ROFL ROFL ROFL ROFL!!!! --- Seriously? You expect me to go by what Catholics believe and taught???? I go by the bible---not by Catholic church fathers!! You are free to follow whomsoever you will!!
According to the SDA, one of the Popes changed the day of worship to Sunday around 350 AD. (Which did not happen.)
Justin Maryr died in 165 AD. Tertullian died in 220 AD. Both of these men died between one and two hundred years before the SDA say that the RCC went off the rails.
The Latin Mass didn't really start until the reign of Pope Gregory the Great, around 600 A.D. (It wasn't fully standardized until the Sixteenth Century!) Neither Justin Martyr or Tertullian ever participated in any Catholic Mass that we would recognize. Think before you dismiss them as "Catholics."
The claim was that the Catholic church changed the Sabbath day to Sunday? You do not know your history as well as you think you do.
“Question: How prove you that the church had power to command feasts and holydays?
“Answer: By the very act of changing the Sabbath into Sunday, which Protestants allow of and therefore they fondly contradict themselves by keeping Sunday strictly, and breaking most other feasts commanded by the same church.
“Question: Have you any other way of proving that the church has power to institute festivals of precept?
“Answer: Had she not such power, she could not a done that in which all modern religionists agree with her; -she could not have substituted the observance of Sunday the first day of the week, for the observance of Saturday the seventh day of the week, a change for which there is no Scriptural authority.” Stephen Keenan, A Doctrinal Catechism On the Obedience Due to the Church, 3rd edition, Chapter 2, p. 174 (Imprimatur, John Cardinal McCloskey, Archbishop of New York).
“The Catholic church for over one thousand years before the existence of a Protestant, by virtue of her divine mission, changed the day from Saturday to Sunday...The Protestant World at its birth found the Christian Sabbath too strongly entrenched to run counter to its existence; it was therefore placed under the necessity of acquiescing in the arrangement, thus implying the (Catholic) Church’s right to change the day, for over three hundred years. The Christian Sabbath is therefore to this day, the acknowledged offspring of the Catholic Church as spouse of the Holy Ghost, without a word of remonstrance from the Protestant World.” James Cardinal Gibbons in the Catholic Mirror, September 23, 1983.
“Sunday is our mark or authority...the church is above the Bible, and this transference of Sabbath observance is proof of that fact.” Catholic Record of London, Ontario, September 1, 1923.
The first Sunday law: Emperor Constantine was never an official Pope: Official line of succession goes from Paul to Linus to Anacletus. However, he is the first acknowledged Christian to institute Sunday observance laws.
The text of Constantine's Sunday Law of 321 A.D. is :
"On the venerable day of the Sun let the magistrates and people residing in cities rest, and let all workshops be closed. In the country however persons engaged in agriculture may freely and lawfully continue their pursuits because it often happens that another day is not suitable for gain-sowing or vine planting; lest by neglecting the proper moment for such operations the bounty of heaven should be lost. (Given the 7th day of March, Crispus and Constantine being consuls each of them the second time." Codex Justinianus, lib. 3, tit. 12, 3; translated in History of the Christian Church, Philip Schaff, D.D., (7-vol.ed.) Vol. III, p.380. New York, 1884
The claim was that the Catholic church changed the Sabbath day to Sunday?
The Roman world before emperor Constantine established Sunday as a day of rest, did not observe the Sabbath day as a day of rest.
The Roman world did not have a day of rest on any day of the week before Constantine's declaration. So how can the Catholic church make a claim that they changed the day of rest from Saturday to Sunday?

25 Then I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you will be clean; I will cleanse you from all your uncleanness and from all your idols. 26 Moreover, I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you, and I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh.
