  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

You could be a missionary or some other sort of ministry in the US. Depending on what you do though you might need more training later. It might be wise to double major in something else as well. At least financially a different major may help out. Some different specialized jobs in ministries can use other majors as well.

But of course a biblical studies major is great, I wanted to major in that, but it didn't work out.

I went this route and later got an MA and am currently working on a ThD. So, it lines you up well to continue your education.

More importantly, it SHOULD allow you to really examine Scripture and theology and think through what you believe and why you believe it.

Of the other classmates I had that majored in Biblical Studies, most went straight into some type of Christian ministry - whether being a pastor or missionary. Some ended up switching gears totally and although they are active and teaching in their churches they got jobs in non-ministry related fields.
