"O magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt his name together" (Psalm 34:3 NKJV)

The NIV doesn't use the word 'magnify' very much, so I tend not to either - and neither have I ever really thought about it.

If we magnify something, we are making it look larger to us, we need to see it more clearly. We are not changing the size of the object itself; it's our eyes that are defective, not the object. Sometimes there might be a group of people who cannot clearly see the image/print or whatever - so we make it larger.

So I need to magnify the Lord for me. I cannot make HIM bigger, but I need to make him look bigger to me, because otherwise, my/the world's problems will look bigger and get in the way so I can't see him clearly.
And I need to magnify the Lord for others - make him look bigger to them, or maybe show them how big he really is - because only HE can help and save them; only HE is their answer and all they need.

This is amazing - I could even say, magnificent.:clap::clap:
How awesome to be able to exalt the Lord in this way and show his greatness to other people.
And how I need to remember that I sometimes make my God too small - I need to magnify him again.

So - "magnify the Lord with me,
let us exalt his name together."

Interesting:)

A magnifying glass can concentrate the heat of the sun and ignite paper.........

I think magnifying God has also to do with the presence of God. I remember being in the church music practice about 7 years ago one evening~we played together for about 4 or 5 hours~ by 11pm you could tangibly feel the presence of God in the place. The praise and worship had magnified God's presence. A forming reddish cloud. It was an awesome night! Wish it would happen again!

Thank you, Karen.

The Lord just got me excited about his word and I thought I'd share it.

If anyone else wants to magnify the Lord and share what he has done in their lives, please do.

I wanted to add here

This should be our prayer each day that we should mangify the Lord
Will we be like the shepherds who eagerly seek Him
How wonderful that our Father, the Creator of all things should give His Son to die in our place because He loved each one of us so much
