  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Madison Cawthorn: US lawmaker 'won't back down' after naked tape leak
Madison Cawthorn, 26, said the video showed him "being crass with a friend, trying to be funny".

In this most recent episode, leaked video appears to show Mr Cawthorn naked in bed and making thrusting motions on top of an unidentified person.

The video was released by American Muckrackers, a political fundraising group that opposes Mr Cawthorn.

In a statement, the group said they obtained the video from an anonymous source who used to be a donor for Mr Cawthorn's campaign.

[Maybe it was at one of those Congressional orgies he was trying to warn us all about. They got him too!]

Cawthorn has made himself so popular that many in his own party are backing his primary challenger. That's what happens when you spill the beans about the cocaine orgies.

[NC senator] Tillis and many of North Carolina’s top Republicans, including the state’s House speaker and Senate leader, are backing a challenger, state Sen. Chuck Edwards, in next Tuesday’s primary. Tillis has personally raised money for the effort. An allied super PAC is bombarding the district with TV ads and mail pieces highlighting Cawthorn’s string of scandals and indiscretions — a list that gets longer with almost each passing day.

The opposition from Tillis and other GOP leaders seeks to bring a sudden end to the meteoric rise of a political newcomer who surged to celebrity status in Trump’s Make America Great Again movement. The race is shaping up to be a contest between MAGA star power and old-fashioned political pull — a test of how far a candidate (besides Trump himself) can go in juicing online outrage for campaign cash and bucking the party establishment.
