  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Umm, okay theres one things you need to know when deciding on football games, any sports game for that matter....and that would be are you full simulation and strategy, action, just go play and have fun, or arcade craziness kungfoo sports.
If kungfoo is ur idea of football I'd head for Blitz, if action is ur key, I'd head more toward ESPNs Football, but if full simulation is ur idea of football then here it is. That is one thing I like so much about Madden is it's technical side....don't get me wrong though, it's easy to pick up and play, and it is full of action although i think other football games seem to get the right crash and angle on hits...and SOMETIMES the players seem almost non lifelike and pole like to me. But being that I play football I like the technical side which after a short amount of time is just as easy to master. Basically it opens up the playbook so much more with audibles and you can really get into each players "brain" so to speak. I like being able to see the field and not worry about taking control of a player to get the blitz, instead i can key one player CPU to blitz, match up, drop back, i can do that to one player or more...it just to me seems like the chess of football. Added on to that is the Owner Mode, which you can find out about in reviews on sites or magazines, but you'll find that with this addition they wre striving for simulation ad technicality rather then all out action. When a game gives you this much control it's crazy and you can tell that they want almost an RPG football game. I think Madden has some great mini games, and that players are well balanced to their real life counter parts...QBs scramble or drop back 8 yards as though they are their real people...the thing that makes it SEEM less action is that camera angles don't express hits that well as they do in other games unless it's on a replay, and the speed of the game seem out of proportion sometimes unlike NCAA, plus jukes and moves seem fake and it's like frogger again and that the moves don't really mean much, sometimes they work sometimes not, you just kinda do it and hope, whereas other games a stiff arm feels powerful and pushes guys into the dirt, this feels more like a shield and ur just running carrying it, and they seem to bounce off...really what you need to do is see the game in action as well as the others, i have no doubt you'll like the control you have, but you might not like how the action is carried out.
