I know I am a bit young to be posting in this section, but I figured there would be enough experience here to get some good insight.
I must admit that I am looking for something rather specific and factual, rather than opinion or advice. In essence, a good debate if necessary, but hopefully an agreement.
I am a Japanese major at the University of Florida and recently started a thread asking for ideas to help me get the $8K-$15K that I need to get through next semester. I also put forth the idea of getting into Market America. The promise is a substantial residual income within a year, working about 15 hours a week on it (longer if I cannot devote that much time). I have done some research, watched a friend grow in money and capability, and had something of a miracle of my own, health-wise, with one of my products. I did fail to give this information in the original thread, but what I did say was the type of business it was: network marketing. The general concensus was that this was a scam, preying on my desperation, and I should steer clear of it.
My question is, does anyone have firsthand knowledge of the company? Not a story or a rumor, but experience?... I have to admit that I am hoping against hope that the consensus is due to lack of information on this specific company. I and my family has been burned by scams and legit network marketing businesses alike, but this feels different.
