Thread: A Soul for A Secret
Name: Lyra Adair
Gender: Female
Age: 10
Height: A normal 10 year old's height?
Weight: Same as above.
Appearance: Her skin is slightly tan, brown freckles dotting her cheeks and nose. Her eyes are a bright blue, big and round with curiosity. Her hair is light brown with a soft hint of honey in the sun and falls just passed her shoulders in tight ringlets.
Personality: Curious about almost everything that enters into her vision and has the urge to touch and examine it. Finds joy in the most simple of things; that she learned from her mother. Loves to run and play, pick flowers, catch bugs, and climb trees to pick their fruit. Holds an aura of innocence, yet has the ability to surpass adults in maturity. Intelligent. Holds faith in anything and everything.
Background: Lived a peaceful life with her mother and father -- common folk who worked hard for a living and loved one another deeply. When she was eight, Lyra became deathly ill. She spent many weeks in bed, unable to move, and most of the time unable to wake from sleep. It was more or less obvious the little girl wasn't going to make it.
And then, without notice, she became suddenly better. It was a miracle and no one could understand it. But all that mattered was that she was well, and life began to go on as before...until a few months later when her mother began acting odd. She changed, and Lyra remembered her having terrible nightmares, screaming at night in the silence of the darkness.
Lyra couldn't understand, she didn't want to understand. And as much hope as she put into her mother's wellbeing, it only became worse. One day they went for a walk neither to return again. Her mother was gone, disappeared, and Lyra wasn't the same. She had lost her ability to speak and became more attentive of her surroundings. She walked through the world seeing things others didn't, and could only hope to one day get her father, and the rest of the world, to understand.
