If a woman is topless, and a man looks, and lusts, is it the woman's fault? Or the man's?
If a man is topless (and with hot bod), and a woman looks, and lusts, is it the man's fault? Or the woman's?
brinny,
Amen Sister!
The distinction between flesh (carnality) and the spirit.
Our God is completely and perfectly holy. So what does he desire us to be?
What kind of question is that? If we are Christians, we are specifically mandated to keep our minds and hearts staid on our God and Lord and SAviour Jesus the Christ. We are also mandated to run from sin, just as Joseph did.
It falls on the "looker". You didn't know that? Really?
Exhibitions designed to attract can be objectifying manipulations themselves, and assuming nobility of every topless woman is er, ah...I would say it's the looker's fault.
Lust, in my view, does not come from simply being attracted to someone--it comes from the desire to objectify and control that person. Even those who walk around topless want to be treated with the dignity and respect of a human being.
The sexier cloths will get more WANTED attention from the wearer. They also learn that if they wear duller cloths they are ignored and fall in to the background. So that just reinforces the behavior.there are so many people (women really) that wear clothes that cause temptation. They do not think of it as temptation but as attention. They like the attention they get from the men. However, i always tell girls who wear stuff like that.. "what kind of attention are you trying to get?". So they do lead others into temptation, just dont see it that way. Its kind of odd that way.
Consensuality is at work here. Lust isn't a passing sensation, it is delling on the sensual. You can't blame the temptress for your decision to entertain temptation. If a woman is topless, and a man looks, and lusts, is it the woman's fault? Or the man's?

totaly right on.The sexier cloths will get more WANTED attention from the wearer. They also learn that if they wear duller cloths they are ignored and fall in to the background. So that just reinforces the behavior.
That being said, as a guy I can tell you that these guys who keep staring at women who dress like that do it because they want to. They have the ability to look away. They have the ability to say no and not be tempted by the dealer selling weed or crack on the street as well. Temptation is a state of mine. Just because I go to a restaurant that has a bar doesnt me I have to guzzle down whisky. I can order a glass of water. Yes the waiter may offer me a wine list. I am not going to drool at it and then blame the waiter for tempting me with alcohol. There is a certain responsibility that comes with being an adult. As for womens; I am not tempted by women who dress sleazy, especially in church. I view them as being desperate for attention or a relationship. Hence I avoid them. Besides I would not want to be caught dead going out with a woman who dresses like a prostitute.
They actually get angry! Or they start getting bolder. On starting asking my Father (Minister) and my Grandfather (Bishop) about ME at a Church picnic. Then she proceeded to ask my MOTHER for my mobile number! My mother being very wise, told here I am a speed dial on her home phone. Thus she did not have my actual number, which was the truth. All three of them then were laughing and warning me on the side. Those cloths were really awful.totaly right on.
Sometimes it's fun watching their reaction when you DON'T to give them the attention they seek.
Brother truth is almost always more bizarre than fiction isn't. I think she thought she was one day going to be married to a Bishop (me)! That's hilarious! I needed to hear that.
