  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Jesus never seems to answer Peters question - can anyone explain this passage to me, specifically, where Jesus' answer is?
Thanks

Yes, the answer lies in the fact that the servants mentioned were never members of the household.

It is profitable to realize that while Jesus was walking on earth prior to His death, burial and resurrection, the laws of Moses were still in effect.

Hebrews 9:15-17.... "...He is the Mediator of the new covenant, by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions under the first covenant, that those who are called may receive the promise of eternal inheritance. For where there is a testment (or will), there must also of necessity be the death of the testator. For a testament is in force after men are dead, since it has no power at all while the testator lives."

The New Testament/Covenant was not in effect until after the death, burial and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ, as the Scripture from Hebrews clearly shows.

When one realizes this, some things that Jesus said while walking on earth that are really puzzling from the New Testament perspective are easily solved/understood.

If you are interested about some of these, let me know, and I will post something explanatory.

Shalom... WAB
