  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I have heard this passage used often to tell us not to worry, to trust God as he will provide for our needs. v31 in particular, in NASB says:

"But seek His kingdom, and these things will be added to you."

This comes right after verses talking about birds having food, lilies being clothed. So is this verse saying that God will provide food and clothing for us? Or is it His Kingdom that will be added to us?

See Matthew 6:33-34, where verses 6:25-30 are metaphoric (figures of speech), and where the Greek personal pronoun ΑΥΤΟΥ (αυτου, ow-too', translated in most English Bibles to read"his") can also be correctly rendered as its. Then ask yourself:

  1. What is it believers are to seek? (v.33)
  2. When are believers to seek it? (v. 33)
  3. What are believers to do in the meantime? (vs. 31-32, 34)
