Scripture
“Beware of the yeast of the Pharisees—their hypocrisy. The time is coming when everything that is covered up will be revealed, and all that is secret will be made known to all.
Observation
Jesus is teaching about hypocrisy. Nothing is hidden from God. So when we say one thing but do another, God sees what we've done.
Application
This pinged me for a number of reasons.
First, regarding hypocrisy, I have to ask myself if I am working to please others or please God? Pleasing others will always lead to hypocrisy because we will always sacrifice God's will for other's approval. Do I really need other's approval so much?
Second is the mention of yeast. I bake bread so I know how a little yeast can go a long way. Just a little bit of living for other's approval can corrupt you in a big way. So keep service to God.
Finally, is the statement about a time is coming when everything will be revealed. We used to live in a time when we could have secrets. No more. Social media, need I say anymore?

It is very telling in this age of tolerance where everything goes.
