  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Okay - so I'm probably over-reacting like my husband says. But I had my ultrasound yesterday. I'm 22 weeks - and we found out that our baby is a boy! :) We're excited because that's what we secretly wanted. But, the placenta is lying too close to my cervix. My doctor is out of town - so they can't diagnose placenta previa until the dr looks at the report. But, the nurse told me it probably was placenta previa because it is lying too close, so that I need to stay off my feet as much as I can, no lifting (which is going to be tough with a toddler), keep my stress level low, and no sex. And they did say this is common -- and that it can correct itself, and I'll have another ultrasound in a month or so. So, if it's so common - then why am I freaking out about it and scared? If anyone has this or has dealt with this - can you post some encouragement? I need to know if how I'm feeling is normal and any encouragement of how it can correct itself. They did check everything, and my precious baby boy is fine -- everything looked perfect to the tech, except for that... But any encouragement would be SO welcome. Thanks!

I never had it but my grandmother did at least once, and she had 8 healthy kids :) (the plecenta problem was one of the younger ones so she had more than a toddler to look after!)

Congrats on the boy, and relax, it is good for you regardless :).

Dunno how young your toddler is but if is able to walk, you would be amazed at how willing kids are to follow mommy to a couch for a snuggle rather than be carried and all that. If they can't walk yet, now is the time to offer lots of practice, even let them nap on the floor or low bed if possible to offer that extra chance to walk to you rather than wait to be picked up out of the crib.
