Low Flame?

Isaiah 42:3... A bruised reed He will not break, and a smoldering wick He will not snuff out.

A BRUISED REED HE WILL NOT BREAK...that's the kind of person who is just hanging on for dear life by the narrowest of threads. Nothing is more fragile than a bruised reed. Jesus grabs hold and makes the ones weak in faith stronger.

A SMOLDERING WICK HE WILL NOT SNUFF OUT...the smouldering wick is the candle that has just gone out. It won't take much to relight the flame and it won't take much to snuff it out entirely. Nothing is more tenuous than a smoldering wick. Jesus keeps the spiritual fires burning within, He renews hope where there appears to be none.

Is your flame burning low today? Turn to Jesus, ask for that breath of life - to rekindle the flame - to fan it and make it burn bright.

2 Timothy 1:6... For this reason I remind you to fan into flame the gift of God...

Is your flame weak, burning low?
Go to the one who tends the smoldering wick.
Seek the breath of life to know.

Breathe on me Your breath, oh Lord,
Bring new life, revive me, let it grow,
Fan the Flame within me - make it glow.

Teach my heart and heal my soul.
Fan the Flame within me - make me whole.

Breathe on me Your breath, oh Lord,
Let the world feel Your fire.
Fan the Flame within me - lift me higher.

Thank You Lord for Your promise - not to 'snuff out a smoldering wick'. Lord, please bless and sustain those whose faith candle burns low today. Help each of us fan into flame the gift of faith we've been given. In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ.

great post.....thanks........this Scripture has always spoken to me, there have been times when I have felt bruised and as though my flame had went out. God has assured me that even then, there is still purpose for my life. Today I draw from the words of Paul to Timothy, "kindle the flame that has been started in you." I kindle the flame with the Word of God.............jerry ralph

My flame has been low recently. The Lord reminded me of this scripture & how important the Breathe of God is -- the empowerment of the Holy Spirit/ Trinity.
