Hey everyone, I made a video for Easter about loving your enemies. I hope you find it helpful and edifying, and I would value feedback greatly :)

This is about how is we don’t love one another, even the people that hurt us, the message of easter is lost on this generation

Would love to hear what you think

Very very good! God most diffidently is at work in your life. It is never about how someone treats us. It's always about how we respond. Loved it!

Much love in Christ, Not me

Hee heee, “Not you” if you said it, but than it would be Not me but Not you either but than it would be Not you which make it Not me?? I’m so confused, lol :)

Your more than welcome Sal Robinson, keep feeding your personal relationship with Christ and you will grow up in Him in all things. That Christ would be formed in our hearts in a new and deeper way. Bless His Holy Name!

Much love in Christ, Not me (you).

Your message is definitely the right message

However Im going to debate you a little:
Throughout the bible, particularly the old testament, God demands total annihilation of the enemies of those he favours. There are repeated commands from God to go into a town and kill every man, woman and child. In my mind that's totally at odds with the need to love your enemy - in fact a frequent message is to utterly destroy your enemy with God's blessing.

Now to todays world - A girl is brutally raped and badly injured. Her rapist is unrepentant and secretly replays the even in his mind as the memory of it excites him sexually...... If I was that girl's counsellor, I would not be asking her to love the man who raped and hurt her. I would fully understand if she had no love or thoughts of kindness towards him. She needs to get on with her life the best way she can and to package the myriad of emotions she has in a way that will allow her to not remain bitter and to be productive - telling her she is wrong if she doesnt love that evil person isnt going to allow that imo.

So here's two issues for you to consider.
All the best

You are so correct, in the OT times God was very “hard”.

Question is, why, if God’s a loving God?

Answer; because,

“the law came in through Moses and Grace and truth came in through Christ Jesus”

Let me explain; because “the law came in through Moses.” Meaning what sin was, and the consequences of sin. Also what righteousness was, and the blessing that would follow righteousness. For all “evil” was to be done away with, nothing sparing.

But “Praise be in God” a New Covenant has been established by God. Which was brought in by Christ Jesus. For we also read “but Grace and truth came by Christ Jesus” Now the law is “he that is without sin can throw the first stone” meaning that the law is still active, but only He that is sinless can administer the punishment of it. So the command is “go and sin no more” meaning “stop your sinning” For there is a consequence of sinning and a person “will” be held accountable.

Yes it it very “human” to hate those that hurt you. Very human not forgive, to want revenge, to hold a grudge. To do what is “right in ones own eyes.” But God says to “forgive him that does evil toward you.” So what’s a man to do? Do what is “right in their eyes” or do what is “right in Gods eyes?”

Much love in Christ, Not me
