Love is patient. Love is kind. Love isn’t jealous. It doesn’t sing its own praises. It isn’t arrogant. It isn’t rude. It doesn’t think about itself. It isn’t irritable. It doesn’t keep track of wrongs. It isn’t happy when injustice is done, but it is happy with the truth. Love never stops being patient, never stops believing, never stops hoping, never gives up. Love never fails.

I could use some of this in my life. This kind of love is getting harder and harder to come by.

It is, and so it was written: Matthew 24:12. But if we show that love, it will multiply outward. Love is powerful, so much more than we realize; its effects can wipe out much anger and hate with just a little here, and, a little there. Ill will is strengthened by ill will; a feedback loop of sorts; but one instance of love can break many chains of ill will. We shouldn't be discouraged just because we don't see results around us, but, take courage in understanding that love is rippling through the world we cannot see. A little love can cause an avalanche that we don't see or hear because it is moving away from us. Someone once said, all it takes is a little candlelight, and the darkness flees away. Think about it: all of the darkness in all of its depth, is completely wiped away by a single light. Someone once said, those who fear the dark have not seen what the light can do. Matthew 5:16

The heart does hope for it, and it delays; but as the proverb goes: Proverbs 13:12: the reason we wait in hope, and our heart becomes sick in anticipation is to create this effect (wait for it!):

Love is not just a feeling but a choice.

It also seeks the good of others and is usually sacrificial (or can be).

There are many kinds of love, some negative, some positive

The Greatest love is God's love.

God's love is His benevolent possessiveness over His Creation.

Love is what binds everything together.

Love, magnifies, solidifies, and sustains the will or desire.

Christ in human form was God's love for us manifesting in the flesh.

Christ laying down his life for us was the unrestrained, complete outpouring of that love.

Love desires all to be in perfect unison and absolute harmony together with our Blessed Creator - while still allowing for us to have our own distinct individuality.

Love is also caring + sharing with others, esteeming them above ourself.

Love also seeks the wealth and betterment of others above our own.

But love can become corrupt, if it is separated from truth.

For then some love things like money, power, pleasure, status, temporal earthly things more than they love the eternal and the everlasting heavenly things.

None would choose such folly, except they were deceived by a lie.

For no one with clear reckoning would ever willingly exchange a moment of glory for an eternity of shame.

But alas, have we not played the fool - many, many times over ?

Were it not for God's love yielding patience for us - we would have no grounds for having any real hope.

Even so, because our love can become corrupted through being deceived - even before we enquire of what love is... We should seek to know what is truth.

Hi. Someone said that love is not jealous... Well if we're talking romantic love there's gonna be some jealousy in the mix.

There is both godly and ungodly forms of jealousy -

For I am jealous over you with godly jealousy: for I have espoused you to one husband, that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ. <---> 2 Corinthians 11:2

Paul would not of had the need to stipulate that his jealousy was godly - if all jealousy was godly - hence, some is ungodly.


Do ye think that the scripture saith in vain, The spirit that dwelleth in us lusteth to envy? <---> James 4:5


For the LORD thy God is a consuming fire, even a jealous God. <---> Deuteronomy 4:24
