  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Can Love and fear fight? They are "feelings". Or are they not?

Maybe we should look into it?

Maybe it is God coming to establish His Ruling.

Kingdom of David

Lets see:

We have the "bosses" and we have the "slaves". The bosses speak and the slaves jump.

And the "boss" spoke:

Delphi Forums Login

And the "slave" jump.

Delphi Forums Login

He is the "boss" because the controls are in his hands.

A big responsibility. And in the hands of a human being.

And according to the situation in the world we need to accept.

Delphi Forums Login

And the "boss" acted on behalf of his new "helpless" "visitor".

Delphi Forums Login

And his "visitor" should be very happy with the "boss" on his side.

But God is not:

Delphi Forums Login

God against me? For everything I have already suffered for His Name?

A bitter Medicine.

And you all thought God is with me?

Well me being His Wife will just have to accept it.

Delphi Forums Login

God started fighting!

Against my newly acquired friend which stood up for me.

Delphi Forums Login

And God keeps on and on and on.

Delphi Forums Login

Well maybe He has a point.

Delphi Forums Login

And:

Delphi Forums Login

The "boss" thinks so too.

And the point is made and open for debate

Delphi Forums Login

And the "boss" is starting to ask questions:

http://forums.delphiforums.com/freethinkers3/messages/?msg=12396.362

And he has some more.

Does Love exists?

Can Love really rule?

Will the World be a better place?

Fear vs Love.

Robertson vs God?

Love vs fear on the Internet?

It is written,

"...Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom; and to depart from evil is understanding." (Job 28:28).

"There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love." (1 John 4:18).

"But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him." (1 John 2:5).

"Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man." (Ecclesiastes 12:13).

1 John 4:19 "We love because He first loved us"

Love is like an outpouring of an overflowing cup. From Father to Son. From Son to Us. From Us to the others in our lives. I noticed someone said "I do not care if God loves me, being loved is overrated, it is better to love others". This is half true. I believe this outpouring happens to all, believers and unbelievers alike. Anyone who has loved anyone, has loved because love was first poured on them. And God is that first source. It may not always feel as though He loves us, we may question His presence or existence. But as soon as we love another, any other, for even a moment, we have the very Evidence of it.

1 John 4:8 "Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love."

Yep. Good verses you gave us. But this thread is actually on something totally different.
It is about the ruling of man vs the ruling of God.

You will have to read the links also to understand this thread.

Perhaps this would have been better to explain this in your OP instead of providing a bunch of links, my friend. Most people are not going to read links (unless you are truly interested or unless you specifically are telling someone specific to do so).

Ok. The first link is about the message on God's ruling and the way by which He is doing it.

Kingdom of David

The second link is about a "non-believers" forum host and the way he is doing it.

http://forums.delphiforums.com/freethinkers3/messages/?msg=12396.2

He put down the rules.

And he enforces the rules.

http://forums.delphiforums.com/freethinkers3/messages/?msg=12396.256

And then the judment. Where he is actually admitting that what he do is far from love.

http://forums.delphiforums.com/freethinkers3/messages/?msg=12396.276

And then the conclusion. Maybe there is a better way to rule a forum.

http://forums.delphiforums.com/freethinkers3/messages/?msg=12396.289

No the question is this:

The example is that of a non- believer. Is there any difference with believers having a God with them?

Without even looking at the links, by your response you are suggesting that believers do not need to fear God. So does this mean that Christians can sin and still be saved? Meaning, can a Christian indulge in occasional drunkennes, violence, multiple sex partners, etc? Now, the standard Christian response to a question like this is that no true Christian will live like that. But what about David? David committed great sins, but yet, he repented of those sins. He did not live out his whole life murdering people and committing sexual sin after he repented.

So no. Fear means fear. Fear God.
It's simple for those who do not want to seek to change what God's Word plainly says.

Again, read Matthew 10:28. It says that we are not to fear the one who kills the body but we are to fear the One (Jesus) who can destroy both body and soul in Gehenna (i.e. the Lake of Fire). We are to fear God. There is no other way to understand the word "fear." It means "fear." So please my friends. Let's not change what this word means in our Bibles. Pray about it. Do not seek out what you want to hear. For there is a way that seems right to a man, but the end thereof is death.

Sure we need to fear God.

The Fear of God.

But this thread is about the ruling authority of God. Does He rule in the Spirit of fear or Love?

Here is some more on it.

Both. Jesus died for all mankind to offer him the free gift. Yet, Jesus will also return and destroy all the nations who will come up against Him. They will be utterly destroyed.

But both can not be applied in this case. It is one or the other

It is not about how they apply it. It is about the basis.

Look at these two introductions and the difference.

Delphi Forums Login

This first introduction in "freethinkers" is that of a non-believer. And it differs nothing from the introductions by believers.

Now this basis for authority revoke a certain reply.

Delphi Forums Login

Yet here is another kind of introduction.

Delphi Forums Login

This time the basis for authority is totally different.

So what "reply" does this second introduction call for?
