  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Hmm...I guess considering we're talking about a fictional character the answer is 'I don't care'.

Robbie James, read this very carefully.

Blasphemy
In the interests of informed debate, members will not speak in a disrespectful way of The Christian God, The Trinity, or The Holy Scriptures (The Bible) . A similar respect is expected towards the faith and sacred texts of other religions.
Expressing disbelief in God is acceptable, referring to Him as a 'fairy tale' or 'mythical being' is not.

I'm asking a moral question. This is Ethics and Morality.
And just what aspect of morality does your question embrace?

Because the majority of the threads you've started in this forum have nothing to do with ethical or moral issues, I've come to suspect you haven't a clue as to what either ethics or morality is. However, if you really do, then please limit your OPs in this forum to those that do relate to E or M issues.

Thanks.

I don't know. The scripture you quoted is too small to read. Will you please post scripture in larger and bolder font. Thanks.

I did not make any reference to the existence of the theistic God, I said that I do not believe there ever existed a person who resembled in any way whatsoever the biblical Jesus. And I believe I am supported by the overwhelming testimony of history, but that is a matter for another discussion. Feel free to report me.

I'd say not so much love as keen business sense -- The Jewish religion was big on the coming of the Messiah -- which Jesus claimed to be. If the people don't show sufficient respect for their religious institutions/customs, they won't know/won't care abot Jesus' Messianic claim.

Wrong.

This is a CHRISTIAN board. I am dealing with the WORD OF GOD here. This is a question of JESUS' moral integrity. Is HE being loving here? Most around here think HE is some kind of puffy marshmellow, dancing bunny. I am trying to show that HE was very manly. HE was not some weak kneed sniveling coward that most want to make HIM!!!

So I ask you again, was HE showing love here?

Thank you. I no longer suspect you haven't a clue as to what morality is. You've confirmed it. As for ethics, I don't expect you'll fare any better.

There are quite some Christians who put the emphasis of Jesus´ teachings on the things covered in the Sermon on the Mount. You know, the meek, the gentle, the peacemakers... the other cheek, the do not oppose evil... the love your enemies.

None of them have ever decribed Jesus as "puffy marshmellow, dancing bunny" or "weak kneed sniveling coward".

Now if you want to say that a Jesus who preferred this way of acting over violence and "smack downs" IS a character as decribed by your terms, I would like you to reconsider your approach to blasphemy.
