  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

The life of a Christian is wrought with troubles. I'm sure there are many people on here who've been where ou are. I know I will be praying for you brother. Meanwhile here are some words:

Psalm 72:12-13) . . .For he will deliver the poor one crying for help, Also the afflicted one and whoever has no helper. He will feel sorry for the lowly one and the poor one, And the souls of the poor ones he will save.

(Psalm 34:18) . . .Jehovah is near to those that are broken at heart; And those who are crushed in spirit he saves.. . .

(Psalm 37:10-11) . . .And just a little while longer, and the wicked one will be no more; And you will certainly give attention to his place, and he will not be. 11 But the meek ones themselves will possess the earth, And they will indeed find their exquisite delight in the abundance of peace.. . .

(Psalm 72:12-13) . . .For he will deliver the poor one crying for help, Also the afflicted one and whoever has no helper. He will feel sorry for the lowly one and the poor one, And the souls of the poor ones he will save.

(Revelation 21:4) . . .And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.”

(2 Corinthians 4:16) . . .Therefore we do not give up, but even if the man we are outside is wasting away, certainly the man we are inside is being renewed from day to day. . .

Many more, but I've always found that when I'm lost, if I seek more I usually find. Start a read the Bible topically in a year program or join a local Bible study.
God Bless you,
Dave

Im feeling lost in my walk with christ. I cant seem to stay consistant. And right now is a bad time in my life. So many struggless and i feel like he's just letting it happen to me because im losing my ways.
Reading the word (bible) is good. Studying the word is better. If you don't have one, get a good study bible, one with a running commentary, it is money well spent.

Unfortunately, some Christians feel they should be immune from feelings of loss and depression, just because they're Christian. Such is not the case. This Forum is sort of a mixed bag. You'll get some good help and some not so good. Pray for discernment -- the ability to tell the difference.

Hi Mixtkid, I am sorry to hear that.

Been there, done that!
hmmmm ..... How about just accepting that Jesus likes you (actually he loves you) whether you like it or not .... so may as well like it.

Haha ...... you won't be able to be 'consistent' so give up. What I mean is that you need to pray and do. Not try yourself to be how you want. Walk with the Lord and let him train you in the way you should go. He will if you ask him to.

Here is a great truth for you ,
Look at Mat 11:28 ... onwards .... if you are feeling weak and under a load just call on him. He will help out.

And this is confirmed,
Psa 86:7 In the day of my trouble I will call upon thee: for thou wilt answer me.
8 Among the gods there is none like unto thee, O Lord; neither are there any works like unto thy works.

Hmmmm ..... if you feel guilty over something, you probably are doing something daft. So if you mean it pray, say sorry, and stand again. You will never be able to get away from Gods love unless you fight like anything to refuse any love forward your way. And even then you will only partially succeed. I recommend you give up trying.

They who wait on the Lord shall mount up on wings as eagles..........

Will pray for you

Jesus thinks you are neat... never forget it!

I hope I can help a little bit. I too am going through a rough time but what I've learned from the past is that God wants us to lean on him especially when we are going through a tough time. Leave the worries to him. Now that doesn't mean don't try to move forward, but to move forward with FAITH in the Father knowing that you will be ok. We never go through anything that we won't survive, and though sometimes it might feel overwhelming we will prevail! It might not be when we want it to be, but it comes when it is time. <3

If you need an ear, feel free to msg me anytime!

I agree, stay in God's Word as much as you can. A study Bible is wonderful in helping with that. Get a translation that is the easiest for you to understand. There are many options out there. Pray, never stop praying. I talk to God a lot when I am walking around the house taking care of things, in the car and so on. Devotionals can be great too. Many sites offer them and you can have them sent right to your email. Also many great devotional books and prayer books. So many options to help you stay in God's Word. His Word gives us what we need to stay close to him. The closer you draw to him, the closer he will draw to you.

Sometimes admitting to God you are completely powerless to change the situation is key. You give up your control and give it to God. It can hurt for a time, because we're so accustomed to having some control.

Also, read from Lamentations 3:16-26... actually the whole third chapter is great. It's an account of how a person feels utterly rejected from peace and from God (lost). But he finds hope in waiting on the Lord.

He is not letting it happen. You are! As long as you do not trust in Him completely, He WILL NOT HELP.

Are you in fellowship? 1 John 1:9...if not, HE does not hear our prayers.

"He is standing at your door and Knocking."

Now the choice is yours.

Im feeling lost in my walk with christ. I cant seem to stay consistant. And right now is a bad time in my life. So many struggless and i feel like he's just letting it happen to me because im losing my ways.

Hebrews 13:5

Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.

John 14:21

Whoever has my commands and obeys them, he is the one who loves me. He who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I too will love him and show myself to him."

The situation is never that God is unwilling to do something, it is that we separate ourselves from God with sin and neglect. The key dynamic in your relationship with God is how much you remain under His Lordship. Do you obey God as if you were serving before His very throne? Or do you act as if God is somewhere far off, and not paying attention? Where ever you fall between those two statements will tell you how much you are staying under His Lordship. Unless you are obedient, you will not abide in His love. It's as simple as that.

These things usually get into vicious cycles. You do something you know God doesn't like, you feel guilty and separated from Gods love, and instead of doing the right thing and repenting, you keep your distance and use it as a license to keep doing the wrong thing.

You need to put on the brakes and change your behavior. You need to get into fellowship with people who will keep you accountable, and keep up a daily study of the word of God. You need to stay in prayer and put all of your anxieties on Gods shoulders. He hasn't left you; you are His son and He loves you. Let Him guide you through this time of trial. I'll pray for your encouragement..God bless
