  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Isaiah 55:6: "Seek ye the LORD while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near:"

Genesis 6:3: "And the LORD said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh:..."

Joshua 24:15: "And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve;...

None of us know which breath will be our last. My prayer is that you will answer the obvious drawing the Holy Spirit is doing. Please do not wait till He withdraws. You may not get another chance.

Reeann, at some point in time, those of us that are saved, "feel" a tugging at our heartstrings. We know this tugging is The Holy Spirit at work, perhaps confirming something we have just heard, or warning us about something, or alerting us to what is about to be said or something we will see. Either way it is The Holy Spirit speaking to us.

It is at that point that we reject this calling and put it off for another day, or we accept that call and we make a conscious decision to accept Jeus Christ, as our personal Saviour.

I do not know what has happened in your life. I don't know if you have made this deciscion or not. But it is obvious God is dealing with you in some way now. Only you know for sure. Is He "drawing" you and/or confirming something to you?

But you speak of "going through the motions again" indicating something has happened at some time in the past. Did you accept Jesus as your personal Saviour? Do you know for sure you were saved?

Listen it is very possible for a born again Christian to grow cold and move away from the Peace and lose the Joy of their Salvation. David was a good example of how "other" things call us from our position. If that is the case with you then I urge you to do what David did in the 51st Psalm. Please read that. It is an awesome prayer of repentence and asking God to "restore" the joy of His salvation. In fact, I will post the first 17 verses here for you.

1 ¶ <<To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David, when Nathan the prophet came unto him, after he had gone in to Bathsheba.>> Have mercy upon me, O God, according to thy lovingkindness: according unto the multitude of thy tender mercies blot out my transgressions.
2 Wash me throughly from mine iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin.
3 For I acknowledge my transgressions: and my sin is ever before me.
4 Against thee, thee only, have I sinned, and done this evil in thy sight: that thou mightest be justified when thou speakest, and be clear when thou judgest.
5 Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me. {conceive…: Heb. warm me}
6 Behold, thou desirest truth in the inward parts: and in the hidden part thou shalt make me to know wisdom.
7 ¶ Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean: wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.
8 Make me to hear joy and gladness; that the bones which thou hast broken may rejoice.
9 Hide thy face from my sins, and blot out all mine iniquities.
10 Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me. {right: or, constant}
11 Cast me not away from thy presence; and take not thy holy spirit from me.
12 Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; and uphold me with thy free spirit.
13 Then will I teach transgressors thy ways; and sinners shall be converted unto thee.
14 ¶ Deliver me from bloodguiltiness, O God, thou God of my salvation: and my tongue shall sing aloud of thy righteousness. {bloodguiltiness: Heb. bloods}
15 O Lord, open thou my lips; and my mouth shall shew forth thy praise.
16 For thou desirest not sacrifice; else would I give it: thou delightest not in burnt offering. {else…: or, that I should}
17 The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise.

If, on the other hand, you have never made that decision, but did as you say simply "go through the motions" without being called, then I urge you to accept Him now, where you are. It is no big complicated difficult thing to do. You can say to God what flows from your heart. There is no "magic prayer". Just tell Jesus you are sorry for your sins and ask Him to forgive all your sins and to save you and come into your heart and be Lord of your life, and then thank Him for doing it. If you do that from your heart in all sincerity, He will keep His promise and do just that.

It isn't based on feelings. It is based on the factual Word of God. If you need help in anyway or do not understand one thing or another PM me in private and I will do anything I can to explain it to you.

God bless you little one and grant you Salvation, Peace and Joy! My humble, sincere prayers are with you.

Ok, I was up and ready today, the lady who was meeting me to drive me to church called with a raincheck. I had that old fear again but then decided to go by myself. We had terrible rain the past couple of days, I got in our truck and the windshield wipers didn't work. I was so let down. I barely slept the night before because of anticipation..its been a long time since I've gather with others in a church. I came on the forums and read a few posts. That really helped. I watched Charles Stanley on TV. It was about sin and a message I needed to hear. My husband assures me he will have our windshield wipers fixed by next week. I really miss worshiping with others.

thank you all!

reeann,
It's not unusual for someone to feel the emptiness when we miss the fellowship of our Brothers and Sisters in Christ.
We see Fellowship on TV and even here at CF.. and we want to be a part of it.
Whenever we feel that emptiness, we should let our Brothers and Sisters in Christ know so that they cam help trough this time of emptiness.
Sometimes we just need reinforcement.
reeann,
You got that here from your Brothers and Sisters in Christ.
We Love you and will continue to Pray for you as you go through this.
Even though you don't known me, I am still your Brother in Christ. I always will be.
Keep us informed of your progress. We want to know.

Love you as Christ who died for me Love me.

Buggy :angel:

WOW! This is GREAT news Reeann! Great News. Here is an exerpt from one of my posts on salvation:

Have you enjoyed Spiritual Fellowship with God, and with Jesus our Saviour, and other Christians. The key word here is "Spiritual". This is not the kind of Fellowship as defined for the Fellowship Forum, which means simply gathering together. No Spiritual fellowship goes far deeper than that and entails a mutual association and intimate communion. This is in effect a form of union and becoming one with another. That is why we are told in Eph. 5:11: "And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them."

"We want you to be with us in this - in this fellowship with the Father, and Jesus Christ his Son. We must write and tell you about it, because the more that fellowship extends the greater the joy it brings to us who are already in it." I John 1:3,4 JBP

So have we had this fellowship with Jesus? Have we had this love and fellowship with one another? If not there could be something wrong!

Praise God! When you have a love for the saints and a desire to be with them, it is an indication that your heart is RIGHT with your Saviour!

I KNOW this desire! I know what it is to be consumed with it. Oh yes, it is so easy to love our brothers/sisters! lololololol Laughing at myself. I am so excited just to hear you talk this way. You are blessing my socks off watching you! Praise God!

From another of my posts on salvation! LOOK! See how it fits!:

Do we love other believers? I mean really LOVE them? Love to be around them, talk to them, fellowship with them?

There are many verses, especially in the NT that assure us that as born again Christians we have passed from death unto life. But there is one in I John that is both comforting and sobering. Look at I John 3:14:

"We know that we have passed from death unto life, because we love the brethren. He that loveth not his brother abideth in death."

Since we as Christians have passed from death unto life, and we know this, according to God’s written Word, BECAUSE we love the brethren, we have to ask ourselves seriously: Do we love our brothers/sisters in Christ? We need to be sure about this because if we do not, then we are abiding in DEATH!

John 14:6 : Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
John 15:17: These things I command you, that ye love one another.

10 In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother.

And the answer for you obviously is YESSSSSSS! You do LOVE your Family and desire to be with them!
