Please pity us poor Britons...the 3rd season doesn't start till this sunday on Sky One!

I can understand having to wait longer for the new season to start but at least you guys whil have a shorter hiatus.

If you're like I can post reviews of the show to CC's Kafeteria immediately after I see them. Or would you rather I just post an entire rundown of Season 3 so far?

I PMed The Fijian about the Haggis and Henry's underwear episode. Hopefully I wasn't too spoilerish.

Note to TF about something I neglected in my PM, the key is the underwear, not the Haggis.

For those of you Britons who have Skyone, please post your opinions of the premier episode as soon as it airs. That should be sometime Sunday about noon in U.S. time zones right?

I'll watch it again tomorrow night and get back to you

Weeeelllll?

(At this point I havent gone through the whole of the episode 3.1 thread)

First off looking at Jack's backstory I'm wondering how much the title of the episode is an allusion. I've not read much Dickens but in school ( > 12 years ago) we did A Tale of Two Cities in English and from what I remember it's set around the French Revolution and the affections of two men fo one woman (hmm sounds familar). I can't think how I can stretch the comparisons further at the moment.

I guess the point behind Jack's backstory is to tell us that Jack is going stop being stubborn and fighting against the Others but will acquiesce and go along with whatever they have planned for him?

Seems that there's some amount of tension between Ben and Juliette, which I'd presume is played out more fully in the following episodes. Not sure why Kate is made to wear a dress however, makes benry seema bit pervy, but perhaps we're supposed to see him as the real bad guy.

Who is the Carl boy meant to be in the cage opposite Sawyer? I'm tempted to think that lots of things are just setups for the deception of our three fuselage surviving friends

We're not sure who Karl (with a K) is yet, but he is at least mentioned a few times in future episodes. The going theories are disillusioned Other vs. plant.

There is some evidence that Benry hurt Kate in some way. If he did, it might explain the dress and the perviness. Because I'm not completely sure if this was in episode 3.1 or 3.2, I'll spoiler tag this:

Her wrists were cut up and bruised when she got back to the cage, and she wouldn't directly answer Sawyer when he asked her what happened.
