  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

What has God asked you and me to do? Has He given us a super sized task that will require His talents to accomplish it? Is He concerned more about failure or success?
The apostles did not take the message to the whole world. They took it to the limit of their ability and time in their life. Did God see them as failures?

Sometimes I face oppotunities that scare me. I see challenges that make me realize I can only complete them with the help of God.
I am aware of the "work of the kingdom" that needs to be accomplished that is impossible for me. However, these challenges will only be faced if I sumit myself to God and allow the talents He has given me to produce.

Christianity has set a goal of reaching every man, woman and child with the gospel. This is a huge goal! It is God size!
It can only be completed if every Christian uses the talents God has given them and begins to use those talents.

Iv'e met people who gave me a big laugh and said, "It is only a "pipe dream"
and won"t cooperate with the rest of us to help complete the job.
Iv'e seen others who seem to have very limited resources and talents that are doing everything in their power to help complete that goal.

What has God asked us to do? What talents has He given us? What talent do you have that could be used in your church, on the job, or with neighbors to do more of God's work?
Are we hiding the talent God has given us? Do we have it buried in the dirt?
Are we so afraid of failure that we don't do everything we can?
God did not give us talents to cause us to fail! He gave us exactly the right amount of talents to accomplish His work.

If we have buried our talent, or hidden it away in a closet somewhere, let's dig it out and begin to use it for the glory of God.
God wants to work in us and reward us for what is produced.
God wants to accomplish His work.

Let us be about our Father's business.

Hi Doc - Am new to this site so am struggling. But when I read your devotion, it reminded me of today in Sunday School. You are right - God has given us all talents and we should use them to the best of our ability for the glory of God. Levi

Yes Doc, it is true that at times we limit ourselves because we think that God has given us too big of a task. Sometimes I come to realize that it isn't that God has given us too big of a task, but that the world is holding us back. There is a tremendous force against us, constantly attacking us, telling us that there's no way that we'll succeed. That world has turned it's back on God, and sometimes we also seem to forget that he has a perfect plan for us.
Though it is hard to stand against the devil's schemes, we always have something much more powerful to fall back on.
For when ever he feel defeted, or we just feel like we can't do it on our own, God has given us his armour, to protect us and defeat the enemy.

Ephesians 6:10-2010 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Ephesians 6:10-2011 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. Ephesians 6:10-2012 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Ephesians 6:10-2013 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Ephesians 6:10-2014 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; Ephesians 6:10-2015 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
Today I'de like to pray for our Lord to be glorified on heaven and on earth, may the world see a God waiting with open arms, forgiving of every mistake we make. OUR GOD IS AN AWESOME GOD!!!!
Blessings, and Peace for every one
-Stefania
