I remember that they used to show this in church when I was a little kid (early 90s). It was about a group of children who would go back in time to Biblical times and witness events from the Bible. I don't remember much else about it other than I liked the music.

No, that wasn't it, I remember the kids looking older, and there was maybe some kind of... underground passage? (I'm not quite sure about this part) that was a common theme in all the episodes.
