"the one who comes to me I will not cast away." -Jesus, the gospel of john

All you need to do is believe that Jesus is right there with you, open up to Him, pour your heart out to Him...He is listening and loves you. If you doubt think of Him hanging on the cross to prove His love for you.

So Wanda [you might need to change your male icon]...
Are you really asking which place He deposited His doctrines and truth?

Well, since He made it plain that He would remain with the Church [via His Apostles and henceforth] and never changed His Will and remains the same always - i am pretty certain you are wondering where that truth was left.

Well, the Catholic Church has those same doctrines.

Sometimes they unfold slowly when each generation gets to taste the answer of what something means...because time never forgot to leave the answers within the confines of the Church.
Or somethings just have always been explained clearly from the start.

Tradition brought us the NT - and Tradition brot us the doctrines and what the scriptures meant [behind the scenes of the writings] All still upheld for 2000 years.

So if thats your question - you came to the right place.
Now go further and seek help from a Catholic parish of your choice. :wave:

God Bless

Dearest Wanda,

Jesus is everywhere. But especially where we are gathered in His name He is there. We choose to gather here and He is with us and with you.

Where else can we see Him?

He might be the beggar on the street corner you try to avoid. He might be the adult with Down syndrome who smiles and raises his hands during church. He might be the prisoner whom we don't visit. He might be the poor family we didn't help.

Mat 25:41 Then he will say to those at his left hand, 'Depart from me, you cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels;
Mat 25:42 for I was hungry and you gave me no food, I was thirsty and you gave me no drink,
Mat 25:43 I was a stranger and you did not welcome me, naked and you did not clothe me, sick and in prison and you did not visit me.'
Mat 25:44 Then they also will answer, 'Lord, when did we see thee hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison, and did not minister to thee?'
Mat 25:45 Then he will answer them, 'Truly, I say to you, as you did it not to one of the least of these, you did it not to me.'
Mat 25:46 And they will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life."

HELLO

MY NAME IS WANDA. I AM LOOKIN FOR JESUS IN ALL THE WRONG PLACES. :amen:

WHERE IS JESUS AND WHERE IS THE RIGHT PLACES?

:liturgy:

THANKS SISTERS AND BROTHERS

Hi. Our Lord is all around you. Just listen for Him. If you open your heart to Him he will come there to stay with you and you will find peace.

I wrote the below content as a reply to a post in another forum, but it will apply here because I find Jesus in the Mass and I worship Him there.

Posted in reply to a Baptist asking why I became Catholic.

Let me first say that I have nothing but respect and admiration for the Baptist Church and I thank God that I was raised in a Baptist home by my grandparents. I witnessed many people there with a great and sincere love of the Lord, and when I walked down the aisle as a child and asked Jesus to come into my heart and save my soul, I felt the peace and comfort in my heart that can only come from God. I agree with the evangelical spirit and message of the Baptist Church and believe that the message of accepting Christ as your savior and making the decision to follow Him is of the utmost importance to the world and is a great service to the Church Universal. I do not feel I left the Baptist Church at all. I accepted the Catholic Church. I will worship our God wherever He is.

I don’t know if I can explain adequately why I made the decision I made given the method at hand. The spirit wishes to be one with the creator, and things of the spirit can only be explained in manners of the spirit. God is spirit and love and truth and the worship of Him is accomplished in spirit and love and in truth.

I think that what moved my spirit to worship our God in the Catholic Church is best described in the words that I hear there at the Mass. My spirit agrees with these words on the deepest level.

The words I hear at Mass:

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.
Amen
The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ and the love of God and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all.
And also with you.

As we prepare to celebrate the mystery of Christ's love, let us acknowledge our failures and ask the Lord for pardon and strength.
Lord, we have sinned against you:
Lord, have mercy.
Lord, have mercy.
Lord, show us your mercy and love.
And grant us your salvation.
May almighty God have mercy on us, forgive us our sins, and bring us to everlasting life.
Amen.

Glory to God in the highest,
and peace to his people on earth.
Lord God, heavenly King, almighty God and Father,
we worship you, we give you thanks, we praise you for your glory.
Lord Jesus Christ, only Son of the Father,
Lord God, Lamb of God,
you take away the sin of the world: have mercy on us;
you are seated at the right hand of the Father: receive our prayer.
For you alone are the Holy One, you alone are the Lord,
You alone are the Most High, Jesus Christ,
with the Holy Spirit, in the glory of God the Father. Amen.

Let us pray.
Amen.

A reading from the Book
The Word of the Lord.
Thanks be to God!

Alleluia!
Alleluia!

The Lord be with you.
And also with you.
A reading from the Holy Gospel
Glory to you, Lord!
The Gospel of the Lord.
Praise to you, Lord Jesus Christ!
We believe in one God, the Father, the Almighty,
maker of heaven and earth, of all that is seen and unseen.
We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ, the only Son of God,
eternally begotten of the Father,
God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God,
begotten, not made, one in Being with the Father.
Through him all things were made.
For us men and for our salvation he came down from heaven:
by the power of the Holy Spirit
he was born of the Virgin Mary, and became man.
For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate;
he suffered, died, and was buried.
On the third day he rose again in fulfillment of the Scriptures;
he ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead,
and his kingdom will have no end.
We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life,
who proceeds from the Father and the Son.
With the Father and the Son he is worshipped and glorified.
He has spoken through the Prophets.
We believe in one holy catholic and apostolic Church.
We acknowledge one baptism for the forgiveness of sins.
We look for the resurrection of the dead,
and the life of the world to come. Amen.

Blessed are you, Lord, God of all creation. Through your goodness we have this bread to offer, which earth has given and human hands have made. It will become for us the bread of life.
Blessed be God for ever.
Blessed are you, Lord, God of all creation. Through your goodness we have this wine to offer, fruit of the vine and work of human hands. It will become our spiritual drink.
Blessed be God for ever.
Pray, my brothers and sisters, that our sacrifice
may be acceptable to God, the almighty Father.
May the Lord accept the sacrifice at your hands,
for the praise and glory of his name,
for our good, and the good of all his Church.

The Lord be with you.
And also with you.
Lift up your hearts.
We lift them up to the Lord.
Let us give thanks to the Lord, our God.
It is right to give him thanks and praise.
Father, it is our duty and salvation, always and everywhere to give you thanks through your beloved Son, Jesus Christ.
He is the Word through whom you made the universe, the Savior you sent to redeem us. By the power of the Holy Spirit he too flesh and was born of the Virgin Mary.
For our sake he opened his arms on the cross; he put an end to death and revealed the resurrection. In this he fulfilled your will and won for you a holy people.
And so we join the angels and saints in proclaiming your glory:
Holy, holy, holy Lord, God of power and might,
Heaven and earth are full of your glory.
Hosanna in the highest.
Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.
Hosanna in the highest.

Lord, you are holy indeed, the fountain of all holiness. Let your Spirit come upon these gifts to make them holy, so that they may become for us the body and blood of our Lord, Jesus Christ.
Before he was given up to death, a death he freely accepted, he took bread and gave you thanks, He broke the bread, gave it to his disciples, and said:
Take this, all of you, and eat it;
this is my body which will be given up for you.

When the supper was ended, he took the cup. Again he gave you thanks and praise, gave the cup to his disciples, and said:
Take this, all of you, and drink from it;
this is the cup of my blood, the blood of the new and everlasting covenant. It will be shed for you and for all so that sins may be forgiven. Do this in memory of me.

Let us proclaim the mystery of faith:
Christ has died, Christ is risen, Christ will come again.

In memory of his death and resurrection, we offer you, Father, this life-giving bread, this saving cup. We thank you for counting us worthy to stand in your presence and serve you. May all of us who share in the body and blood of Christ be brought together in unity by the Holy Spirit.
Lord, remember your Church throughout the world; make us grow in love, together with {Benedict} our Pope, {name of local bishop}, our bishop, and all the clergy.
Remember our brothers and sisters who have gone to their rest in the hope of rising again; bring them and all the departed into the light of your presence. Have mercy on us all; make us worthy to share eternal life with Mary, the virgin Mother of God, with the apostles, and with all the saints who have done your will throughout the ages. May we praise you in union with them, and give you glory through your Son, Jesus Christ.
Through him, with him, and in him, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, all glory and honor is yours, almighty Father, for ever and ever.

Amen!

Let us pray with confidence to the Father in the words our Savior gave us.
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name;
thy kingdom come; thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread;
and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us;
and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.

Deliver us, Lord, from every evil, and grant us peace in our day. In your mercy keep us free from sin and protect us from all anxiety as we wait in joyful hope for the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ.
For the kingdom, the power, and the glory are yours, now and forever.

Lord Jesus Christ, you said to your apostles: I leave you peace, my peace I give you. Look not on our sins, but on the faith of your Church, and grant us the peace and unity of your kingdom where you live for ever and ever.
Amen.
The Peace of the Lord be with you always.
And also with you.
Let us offer each other a sign of peace.
Lamb of God, you take away the sins of the world: have mercy on us.
Lamb of God, you take away the sins of the world: have mercy on us.
Lamb of God, you take away the sins of the world: grant us peace.

This is the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world. Happy are those who are called to his supper.
Lord, I am not worthy to receive you, but only say the word and I shall be healed.

The Lord be with you.
And also with you.
May almighty God bless you,
the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
Amen.

Go in peace to love and serve the Lord.
Thanks be to God!

When I hear these words my spirit is filled with the peace that passes all understanding and I worship our Lord God. I participate in this worship in union with the Church in Heaven and throughout the world and my heart is filled with gladness that my Lord is being worshipped and glorified in such a Holy, pure, and spiritual way. When I am there worshiping Him my spirit hears His voice and says “yes Lord, here I am.”

The right place to find Jesus, IMHO is the New Testament. You really get to know him by his teachings and actions. He came to show us how much he loves us, and his visit is well documented in the New Testament.

The Scripture Below is John Chapter 1. I suggest you read the entire gospel of John. If you don't have a Bible here is one on-line. The gospel of John is in the New Testament. It is about Jesus.

John.1

[1] In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
[2] He was in the beginning with God;
[3] all things were made through him, and without him was not anything made that was made.
[4] In him was life, and the life was the light of men.
[5] The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.
[6]
There was a man sent from God, whose name was John.

[7] He came for testimony, to bear witness to the light, that all might believe through him.
[8] He was not the light, but came to bear witness to the light.
[9]
The true light that enlightens every man was coming into the world.

[10] He was in the world, and the world was made through him, yet the world knew him not.
[11] He came to his own home, and his own people received him not.
[12] But to all who received him, who believed in his name, he gave power to become children of God;
[13] who were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God.
[14]
And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, full of grace and truth; we have beheld his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father.

[15] (John bore witness to him, and cried, "This was he of whom I said, `He who comes after me ranks before me, for he was before me.'")
[16] And from his fulness have we all received, grace upon grace.
[17] For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.
[18] No one has ever seen God; the only Son, who is in the bosom of the Father, he has made him known.
[19]
And this is the testimony of John, when the Jews sent priests and Levites from Jerusalem to ask him, "Who are you?"

[20] He confessed, he did not deny, but confessed, "I am not the Christ."
[21] And they asked him, "What then? Are you Elijah?" He said, "I am not." "Are you the prophet?" And he answered, "No."
[22] They said to him then, "Who are you? Let us have an answer for those who sent us. What do you say about yourself?"
[23] He said, "I am the voice of one crying in the wilderness, `Make straight the way of the Lord,' as the prophet Isaiah said."
[24]
Now they had been sent from the Pharisees.

[25] They asked him, "Then why are you baptizing, if you are neither the Christ, nor Elijah, nor the prophet?"
[26] John answered them, "I baptize with water; but among you stands one whom you do not know,
[27] even he who comes after me, the thong of whose sandal I am not worthy to untie."
[28] This took place in Bethany beyond the Jordan, where John was baptizing.
[29]
The next day he saw Jesus coming toward him, and said, "Behold, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!

[30] This is he of whom I said, `After me comes a man who ranks before me, for he was before me.'
[31] I myself did not know him; but for this I came baptizing with water, that he might be revealed to Israel."
[32] And John bore witness, "I saw the Spirit descend as a dove from heaven, and it remained on him.
[33] I myself did not know him; but he who sent me to baptize with water said to me, `He on whom you see the Spirit descend and remain, this is he who baptizes with the Holy Spirit.'
[34] And I have seen and have borne witness that this is the Son of God."
[35]
The next day again John was standing with two of his disciples;

[36] and he looked at Jesus as he walked, and said, "Behold, the Lamb of God!"
[37] The two disciples heard him say this, and they followed Jesus.
[38] Jesus turned, and saw them following, and said to them, "What do you seek?" And they said to him, "Rabbi" (which means Teacher), "where are you staying?"
[39] He said to them, "Come and see." They came and saw where he was staying; and they stayed with him that day, for it was about the tenth hour.
[40] One of the two who heard John speak, and followed him, was Andrew, Simon Peter's brother.
[41] He first found his brother Simon, and said to him, "We have found the Messiah" (which means Christ).
[42] He brought him to Jesus. Jesus looked at him, and said, "So you are Simon the son of John? You shall be called Cephas" (which means Peter).
[43]
The next day Jesus decided to go to Galilee. And he found Philip and said to him, "Follow me."

[44] Now Philip was from Beth-sa'ida, the city of Andrew and Peter.
[45] Philip found Nathan'a-el, and said to him, "We have found him of whom Moses in the law and also the prophets wrote, Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph."
[46] Nathan'a-el said to him, "Can anything good come out of Nazareth?" Philip said to him, "Come and see."
[47] Jesus saw Nathan'a-el coming to him, and said of him, "Behold, an Israelite indeed, in whom is no guile!"
[48] Nathan'a-el said to him, "How do you know me?" Jesus answered him, "Before Philip called you, when you were under the fig tree, I saw you."
[49] Nathan'a-el answered him, "Rabbi, you are the Son of God! You are the King of Israel!"
[50] Jesus answered him, "Because I said to you, I saw you under the fig tree, do you believe? You shall see greater things than these."
[51] And he said to him, "Truly, truly, I say to you, you will see heaven opened, and the angels of God ascending and descending upon the Son of man."
