• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

 . Freedom from suffering requires ACCEPTANCE from deep within of

what is. Let yourself go completely with what is. Let go of fighting reality.

.ACCEPTANCE is a good way out of depression.

. Pain creates suffering only when you refuse to ACCEPT the pain. Deciding to tolerate the moment is ACCEPTANCE.

. ACCEPTANCE is acknowledging what is.

. To ACCEPT something is not the same as judging it good.

 Replace Willfulness with Willingness’.....

. Willfulness is SITTING ON YOUR HANDS when action is needed, refusing to
make changes that are needed.

. Willfulness is GIVINGUP.

. Willfulness is the OPPOSITE OF "DOING WHAT WORKS:' being effective.

. Willfulness is trying to FIX every situation.

. Willfulness is REFUSING TO TOLERATE the moment.:holy:

Sorry but this makes no sense...you say one thing in the first half of your post....just accpet the pain and the depression???? And that is suppose to make it better??? Stop fighting your illness or whatever you are struggling with and that is suppose to make it better????

The second half says the excate opposite of the first half...

This makes no sense and where is God in any of this?

this is from my first thread:
 what if it isn't healling you should be looking for? what if it is management of what God has placed before you?
James chapter 1
Philippians chapter 3 and chapter 4...
Luke chapter 14
ISAIAH 27:1-5
There is a season for everything a time and purpose for everything. Ecclesiastes chapter 3
Our problems shape our spirits. There is a time and place for pain. God tells us He is everything we need. Allow Him to draw you close. James tells us that we are to count our trials as joy. The scriptures tell us that if we lack wisdom in these matters to just ask God… who gives liberally! Then we are told not to doubt… or we will be tossed in our thoughts and unstable in everything.
In Philippians 4 we are told that mature Christians praise God in everything and we are commanded to dwell on what is praise worthy.
Everything all together…… PRACTICE changing your thinking. Practice …growing…
Practice excepting that God is in control and you are feeling and being who He created you to be. If you are humbled like Paul with the thorn in his side to having being swallowed like Jonah or broken like Job…. Know that you are God’s child… created to be like a first fruit of His creatures…learn to manage what you have and PRAISE GOD! :holy:
these scriptures say alot to us. Job is a beautiful example of excepting our circumstances. All through the Bible the best examples we have are from those who excepted their burdens, and found ways to tolerate it/cope. Jaccob was sold and enslaved and spent years of his life at the hands of those who learned to trust and respect his zeal for his beliefs. we admire anyone in the scriptures who denied their suffering and trusted God. excepting what is for us to carry is what the first part of the post is about. it doesn't mean that the pain or consequences we deal with are fun, or even right. it means we stop being so lost in it. we trust God and praise Him for all the wonderful things we do have. the second part of the post is changing our willfullness to willingness. it is willfull and sinful to fight our burdens. they are for us to carry. God shapes our spirit and others through our lives. we need to be willing to carry and tolerate these things instead of complaining.
when we step out in trust and faith, God is right there...
our burdens change. our thinking changes too. our blessings mulitply. maybe we don't recieve healling, but it doesn't matter anymore... God's amazing touch on us for excepting His purpose for us... takes away the depression,
or helps us manage it for His glory, and our peace.
all of these things are a lot to take in.
PRACTICE....PRACTICE...practice. with my health and the way i have such a difficult time with stress, it took me along time to get these things down to where instead of practicing the different things i needed to be changing... to now it is completely natural. when i start having problems as a result of my mental health. i begain doing the things that God put in my heart. sometimes my health gets so awful and i'm a wreck too. but there is no depression. i just praise God that His peace is in my heart. that i know He's looking out for me.
i know God wants me to share these things. i want to reach out to anyone i can. God is the God of peace, and He wills for us to reside in it.

God bless!
