Did you sense it could have been God who was there with you? Did all your senses except sight felt someone there but you just can't see Him with your eyes? Did your whole body --- especially the heart --- felt an incredible surge of peace, tranquility, love and security? Does it feel like a supernatural feeling, like a certain tingle like nothing like you've ever felt before in your entire life? And is the feeling still there?

Hi there iv been reading the post about finding god and has helped out a bit, as for the feelings
I felt at church was joy had a slight tear in my eye, and then for the rest of the day i felt jiy and happyness and wanted to tell the world, As for the dream it felt real but could not make out what passages to read it was blury and as for the strange feeling I had at work loading a trailer and was slightly dark, I was quickly reading the bible I try to get a bit in when I can, it felt someone was stood behind me felt so real when i turned around nothing was there, then the hairs on my arm stood up and i felt cold then it went. I feal really pulled towards god at the moment and trying to understand why 1 year ago i would of not thourght i would be like this, but lately loads of good things are happening to me and iv finaly sorted out my anxiety

That's how it happened to me:) It's fast - and for me it was the Holy Spirit telling me that this is the right time, that I am ready (finally) - what an amazing ride it has been!!!

After a particularly moving sermon, I felt like I was going to explode with joy and something else I can't describe - almost like I was pregnant!!! And the first time I entered our church, the songs moved me so much I couldn't stop crying (NOT typical for me - I'm not very emotional).

God is great!!! Blessings to you!!!

Dear leftyg83. There is something Jesus wants us to do daily, God wants loving children/sons and daughters. In Luke 10: 25-28: Jesus was asked by someone: " Master, what can I do to have eternal life?" Jesus tells him: " You know the two great Commandments in the Bible: 1) Love God with all thy heart, with all thy soul, with all thy strength and with all thy mind:"
The man says: " Yes, I know them." Then Jesus tells the man: " DO THEM AND YOU WILL LIVE." God wants our love, lefty, and the best way to do that,
is for us to start treating all we know and all we meet, friends or not friends,
to treat them as we would love to be treated: always kindly and with friendly words. God will see our efforts, and God will Bless us. Keep asking God for Love and Joy, then thank God, and share all Love and Joy with all around you.
( Matthew 7: 7-10) A Christian`s weapon is Love, with love we can overcome all anger and wrong behaviour. All we say or do, all we advice or stand up for,
should be done kindly and lovingly. People around us will notice, and they will treat us the same as we treat people.
The Bible tells us to " Repent," and to " Be Born Again." God wants us to change our selfishness into loving and caring. Soon we will notice that we are
changing into the men and women which God wants us to be. LOVE AND OBEY,
is what God wants from us. And we can ask God for Love and Joy any time we
need to. Then we thank God and share all Love and Joy with our neighbour:
all around us. You might stumble and forget sometimes, but then ask God to forgive you, and carry on loving and caring. I say this with love. Greetings from Emmy, your sister in Christ. P.S. Your wife could join you in loving and caring, and you both would get Blessings from God.

Quite normal. Wish I could say it will always stay that way but right now you are getting extra fuel for a time when because of various things your fuel could get a bit low. Meanwhile enjoy the ride. Blessings to you.

....., but lately loads of good things are happening to me and iv finaly sorted out my anxiety

I never had anything surely super nature happen to me, but I know that feel when good things are happening. When I was not a Christians yet, the elders always told me that God bless the young Christians first (just to confirm their faith), and that indeed happened to me, and I remember in the back of my head somehow I know what God is going to do, but just thought it would not be possible because of my condition, and God did it 3 year in a row.

In the Lord's Prayer, you prayed "give us this day our daily bread... and lead us not into temptation."
We all have ideas of what that looks like, food on the table and staying out of trouble. But consider that Jesus called himself our bread, and source of water. God knows what you need to be sustained by.

He nudged you to read John's Revelation... sustenance, preparation for a long haul ahead. Light for your path.

Jesus is the Word, the bread, the light... the Word of God is bread, truth, living, sweeter than honey. God gave you what you prayed for --your daily bread, His Word, Himself.

He gave you the sense that He is real and practically tangible... and that keeps us going too, especially when life gets tiring and we wonder if our religion is working right.
And therein lies a temptation we need to be kept from.

God answered your prayers in unexpected ways.

When God taps us on the shoulder and we turn and look at Him, joy is often the result. We were made by Him to know Him. And when we move toward knowing Him, however slightly, we feel good about it.

There is only one Way, one Door, through which every person must pass in order to be adopted by God into His family: Jesus Christ.

John 10:9
9 I am the door. If anyone enters by Me, he will be saved...

John 14:6
6 Jesus said to him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.

Good feelings are nice, but they don't reconcile you to God. At the moment, you are an enemy of God in desperate need of His forgiveness. No church or priest can give you that. It must come directly from God to you as you repent of a life lived without Him, as you surrender your life to Him and as you accept for yourself the salvation from the eternal punishment of your sin that is yours in Christ.

1 John 5:11-13
11 And this is the testimony: that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son.
12 He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life.
13 These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life...

It seems God may be getting your attention. Don't turn away! He is the fundamental reason for your existence! Get on your knees and repent of your life lived without Him, accept by faith that Christ has saved your from your sins and surrender yourself to God's will and way. When you do, you will have entered through the Door into the life for which God made you.

Selah.

The Lord is drawing him to you that is why this is going so fast.

You see, that presence is the Holy Spirit or Jesus himself. At times, Jesus will visit us, but he is always with us by the Holy Spirit if we are children of God.

Yes, God made all men and women, so we are all children in this sense. But there is something greater than that available to us, where we get our inheritance from Christ Jesus. We become true sons and daughters of God:
--------------------------------------
But the righteousness of faith speaks in this way, “Do not say in your heart, ‘Who will ascend into heaven?’” (that is, to bring Christ down from above)or, “‘Who will descend into the abyss?’” (that is, to bring Christ up from the dead). But what does it say? “The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart” (that is, the word of faith which we preach): that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the Scripture says, “Whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame.” For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek, for the same Lord over all is rich to all who call upon Him. For “whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.”
--------------------------------------

Now salvation doesn't end here, but it begins here. You see, you can be confirmed into a part of Christianity, but the confirmation doesn't really matter to God because God is looking at your heart, not so much what organizations of men are doing. We can belong to an organization, but if our heart never accepts Jesus by making him Lord of our life, then we didn't do what was important to God that we might be saved.

----------------------------------------
But the LORD said to Samuel, "Do not consider his appearance or his height, for I have rejected him. The LORD does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart."
----------------------------------------

And the heart which professes Jesus as Lord, continues forward in fellowship with him, being water baptized in full immersion water baptism... after we have professed him as Lord.

----------------------------------------
Then Peter said to them, “Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. - Acts 2:38
----------------------------------------

You see, after you have repented to God (turned to God) which it sounds like you are doing, and you make Jesus your Lord, God desires we consummate our spiritual union with Christ by water baptism, but only after we have repented. Our hearts lead us into this consummation. And after it, we are to receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned. - Mark 16:16

God is with you wherever you are, and while we shouldn't forget about fellowship altogether, the Bible doesn't instruct us on how many church services a month we're supposed to go to. As long as you have a place you are familiar with and can call home! I'm glad you seem to be happy with the church you belong to and know that you'll return.

God does give us times when we're more sensible to hearing God's word. If we take it seriously and give God some more space in our hearts and minds, spiritual growth might happen more quickly then usually. I would like to encourage you to keep on going to churc now that you feel called to do so, and of course reading the Bible and praying privately and as a family is of course super. Btw being a fast reader doesn't make you muc better of a Bible reader, sometimes it's even better to take shorter passages from the Bible and prayerfully think about them, rather then reading very much at once! I hope your family will find your way of worshipping together and that you'll get closer to God!
