Looking for a Bible Help

I am a survivor of 3 near-death experiences and autistic. I believe that I am one of God's masterpieces and He has had His hand on me my whole life. I know He takes care of the orphans and He makes beauty out of ashes. I'm ashes right now. Ever since I got saved, July 16, 2012, I have been struggling with meditating God's Word and understanding some of it. I don't have any Christians in my family or friends. I'm the only one around me who believes and I need help or I fear I might not fulfill His calling. I have trouble with placing things in proper context and also cognitive issues. Anyone willing to help a new creature in Christ? I really love my Father and I want to know His Love.

Don't sell yourself short friend , We could all use some of what you got from the Lord .. Prayers to you now ..

This is good! He wants us to seek Him with all our heart, mind and soul. Deuteronomy 4:29.

So what bible help are you exactly looking for? Can you be more specific? Are you looking for ways to find God?

I had a chance to read your profile and can see God is working with you. Sometimes it takes a big hurt inside each of us before we come to the end of ourselves with a humble heart seeking God and ultimately find Him when He rescues us. "Come to Me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest." Matthew 11:28, Deuteronomy 4:29-30.

Matthew 11:28 is the verse that changed me forever, it's the one that first led me to getting saved .

I would love to help you out as well. I suggest listening to the dramatic reading of the bible which really helps the bible soak into your mind. Heres a link to it on youtube.
Also A book I recommend is
Reading any of John Schoenheits material is recommended also reading his book The gift of the holy spirit is really helpful I think.

Another very similar verse is John 14.1.: "Let not your heart be troubled. Ye believe in God, believe also in me."

Do you have a church home? If you don't yet have a regular place of worship, I would encourage you to explore local options. The church community can help you with the next steps of your religious journey.

I wouldn't stress too much about the denomination at this time, though with visits & some education you may find some options are better than others. A liturgical tradition may be more soothing for you than a less structured church.

For understanding the Bible better, in addition to what the church can offer, a decent commentary might be helpful. N.T. Wright is a well-respected New Testament scholar, his works could be beneficial, here is one example:
Don't worry if you don't have it all figured out yet. It takes a great deal of education & reflection to really dig into the Bible. There are several books, from cultures foreign to our own, with historical context & more to weigh there. When all else fails, focus on the Gospels, which convey Jesus's message. It's a good starting place anyway.

Thank you! I'm going to explore either Assembly of God, Church of Christ, or something non-denominational when I'm free to do so. My living arrangements are complicated right now. I watch Gateway church with Pastor Robert Morris.

Don't forget also to check what the local church or group believes about baptism: some of those circles you mention teach that you become a Christian by being baptised.

Well, this is great!

Some will teach of course that - never mind being born again, and exercising saving faith in the Lord Jesus - it's whenever the waters of baptism touched the person that the person became a Christian. (It's good to figure what the teaching is, anyway, on this subject.)

Do you mean just trying to understand the bible in general when you read it?

Try this website and see if other translations will help. It has more than 50 english translations, many in modern english.

By the way, Robert Morris is one of my favorite televangelist, and I'm glad you had a chance to read the book of Job too. Many people go through personal tribulations in life before they truly find God. The book of Job is inspiring.
