  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Paul said that Jesus Christ came into the world to save sinners. What a contrast to the way Peter was thinking and the way Peter was preaching! Compare these two verses here and you will see. Look at what Peter told a man:

Acts 10:35 But in every nation he that feareth him, and worketh righteousness, is accepted with him

Now that is quite a contrast to what Paul said:
.Titus 3:5 Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;

Wow! Those two statements are as different as day and night.

Peter is saying one thing and Paul is saying exactly the opposite. You see, Paul was preaching Jesus Christ according to the “revelation of the mystery.” In Peter’s ministry during the book of Acts, he didn’t know anything about Paul’s message.

Even after Peter did hear the body of Christ ("the church") message given to Paul by God, he exhorts his brethren [those of the "circumcision"] in his epistle...let us refer to: (2Pet.3:12-17)
Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God,
wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?
Nevertheless we, according to His promise, look for new heavens and a new earth,
wherein dwelleth righteousness.
Wherefore, beloved,
seeing that ye look for such things,
be diligent that ye may be found of Him in peace, without spot, and blameless.
And account that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation;
even as our beloved brother Paul also, according to the wisdom given unto him, hath written unto you;
As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other Scriptures, unto their own destruction.
Ye therefore, beloved,
seeing ye know these things before,
beware lest ye also, being led away with the error of the wicked, fall from your own steadfastness.

Peter was speaking in reference to the returning "King" and His "kingdom" according to what he and the other apostles had learned before...but he also commends Paul for the message about ("the church" which Christ is the Head of) was hard, even for them, to understand. Keep in mind that Paul did go to the Jew first, as he was instructed by God to, until the final rejection of "the kingdom of God"...so Paul carried on with his special commision to the Gentiles, because "they will hear it." (Acts28:28)

"they will hear it"...what will they "hear"???..."the mystery"/the body of Christ"/"the church of God" message.

Peter and the other 11 apostles were looking for the "King" to return.
Paul and us, members of His body were/are looking for the "Head" of His "church" "to subdue all things unto Himself", i.e., our "calling" on high...rapture, resurrection, and He "change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto His glorious body" (Phil.3:21).

They call Christ the "King".
We call Christ the "Head".

There is a difference between the 2 messages. Amen.
