Jesus said our prayers shouldn't be long. I'm just checking, we dont have to pray for everything we see or do, do we? If so I would be doing nothing to serve God, I would just be continually praying. Surely, if I am serving God, He will always protect me and note my quick prayers throughout the day when I see something of concer, will he not.

CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

i don't think your prayers need to be long, and yes he does know whats in your mind or heart, I think to many people just want to pray when there is a problem, or a need for something. Sometimes its nice just to give thanks, and praise, and not ask for anything. Thank God for his Love, and Mercy, and for his precious Son Jesus Christ. Tell him what a wonderful Father he is, and how you are proud to be a servant of Jesus Christ. I like to pray in private, because i know God listens. Whatever you do seek God in Prayer, if its 5 minutes, thats fine. It it is 30 thats fine to, as long as you pray, pray, pray. God Bless

Jesus actually said not to pray long prayers to get attention from other people. So, if you are praying to get attention from people, no matter whether your prayers are short or long, He's not going to answer. The attention you receive is all you get.
But it's fine to pray quick prayers throughout the day.
Prayer is nothing more than talking to God, and if you want to talk to Him for an hour, or a hundred times a day, He is there to listen to you! Whatever you are doing is fine, if you are doing it to be close to Him.
Don't worry about things like safety, etc. Here's what the Bible says:
"So I tell you, don't worry about everyday life whether you have enough food, drink, and clothes.
Doesn't life consist of more than food and clothing?
Look at the birds. They don't need to plant or harvest or put food in barns because your heavenly Father feeds them. And you are far more valuable to him than they are.
Can all your worries add a single moment to your life? Of course not.
"And why worry about your clothes? Look at the lilies and how they grow. They don't work or make their clothing, yet Solomon in all his glory was not dressed as beautifully as they are. And if God cares so wonderfully for flowers that are here today and gone tomorrow, won't he more surely care for you? Matthew 6
