It would play in their favour to have a strong ally in close proximity to a big threat to their nation.

Assuming they did have the intel... why not make it known?

I don't know, not saying they did, not saying they didn't. But in the intel community there is alot that we don't know about.

Well it was misleading, the Australian Islamic Council has not condemed the attack.
