  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Tulc,
Thanks for the link to the article, it was excellent. My own faith journey has been greatly influenced by the work of JPUSA and I have spent many productive and wonderful hours at both the Friendly Towers as well as at 8 C-Stone festivals. My wife and I along with 6 of our friends also lived in community for three years in the mid ninties, with much help and guidance from JPUSA (Special thanks to Mike Troxell)It was through the guidance we received was first rate. The best thing was that they turned us on to Jean Vaniers wonderful book "Community and Growth".
In the Eastern Orthodox Church, the place that 6 out of the original 9 of us now call home, there is a long and strong tradition of communal life as manifested in cenobitic monastaries. It doesn't surpride me in the least that so many people are seeking a rootedness in the ways of the early Church. Thanks again.
His unworthy servant,
Eusebios.
