  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I love the Lord's Creation...It's so awesome!

I thought I'd write an account of Praise for Yeshua, by meditating solely on the third day of creation:
ט וַיֹּאמֶר אֱלֹהִים, יִקָּווּ הַמַּיִם מִתַּחַת הַשָּׁמַיִם אֶל-מָקוֹם אֶחָד, וְתֵרָאֶה, הַיַּבָּשָׁה; וַיְהִי-כֵן. 9 And God said: 'Let the waters under the heaven be gathered together unto one place, and let the dry land appear.' And it was so. 10 And God called the dry land Earth, and the gathering together of the waters called He Seas; and God saw that it was good. 11 And God said: 'Let the earth put forth grass, herb yielding seed, and fruit-tree bearing fruit after its kind, wherein is the seed thereof, upon the earth.' And it was so. 12 And the earth brought forth grass, herb yielding seed after its kind, and tree bearing fruit, wherein is the seed thereof, after its kind; and God saw that it was good. {פ} 13 And there was evening and there was morning, a third day.

...and thinking about Yeshua's Life.

Hope you enjoy!!!

(ahem)...

“A Third Day Blessing”

by Koilias

For the breaking of bread at the Feast of Shavuot. Inspired by the Didache and the hexaemeron of Origen.

Blessed are You O Lord our God, Creator of the Universe!

Who hovers in Your Wind upon the face of the waters,

Commanding them to stand as a heap,

So that the dry land appears.

Blessed are You O Lord our God, Creator of the Universe!

Who bids the earth to spring forth fresh grass,

And to flower herbs in the field,

Planting trees with fruit and seed in them

And all the green plants according to their kinds,

As food for Your living creatures.

Blessed are You O Lord our God, King of the Universe!

Who commands a strong wind upon the sea

To blow all night before the children of Israel

That their feet might tread across on dry land.

Blessed are You O Lord our God, King of the Universe!

Who gathers your people as one before the holy mountain,

Where you charge them with a fiery Law,

And rain down on them bread from above;

Mannah distilling with the dew on the fresh grass,

A food their fathers did not know about.

Blessed are You O Lord our God, King of the Universe!

Who delivers Your Son as the bread of life,

Laying His head upon a feeding trough,

As fodder for all His living creatures.

Blessed are You O Lord our God, King of the Universe!

Who hovers in Your Wind upon Your Son

When He comes up from the water in prayer,

Making His teaching drop as the rain,

And His speech distil as the dew,

Like droplets on the fresh grass,

And showers on the herb.

Blessed are You O King Messiah, Creator of the Universe!

Who gathers the multitudes by the seashore,

And bids them to repose upon the fresh grass,

Blessing the bread and teaching from the mountain

That their feet should seek Your kingdom.

Blessed are You O King Messiah, Creator of the Universe!

Who makes the dry land appear before Your disciples

After they rowed all night against a strong wind,

Teaching them on the shore about a bread from above,

A food they do not know about.

Blessed are you O Lord our God, King of the Universe!

You raise Him up as the first fruit of everlasting life,

Taking Him up from the mountain

To reign at Your right hand forever,

A fiery Law unto eternity.

Blessed are you O Lord our God, King of the Universe!

Who hovers in Your Wind upon His disciples

When they stand together in one place,

Writing Your Law upon their hearts,

And filling them with holy fire,

Until Your kingdom spreads upon the face of the earth.

Barukh Atah Adonai Eloheinu, Melekh ha’Olam!

The provider of bread from the earth.

'And as this broken bread was scattered upon the mountains,

But was brought together and became one,

So let Thy Church be gathered together

From the ends of the earth into Thy kingdom',

For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory for ever!
