I just went through this in wanting to have some water purification abilities on hand. I just went with the pill form, but did consider the pool chlorine. I also ran into some info there is something else made for pools that is better than the regular pool chlorine for purifying water, but I can't remember what it's called.

Someone with a pool probably has used it...a pretty popular product as I recall...."shock" something?
