Linkin Park's new song, "What I've Done"

Linkin Park are on their way back, it seems. They've abandoned Nu-Metal, in favour of a new sound for them, which is apparently straight-up alternative rock (if "What I've Done" is any indication).

I don't like the song that much myself, but I'm glad that Linkin Park have left nu-metal. Also, the lead singer doesn't scream in this one - he just sings, which is good.

True, but we've only heard one song so far, and sadly, it sounds a lot like their other stuff.

yup, i havent heard the song yet (it is shocking for me, since I am a HUGE LP fan), but i shall give it a listen.
And if it does sound the same as their other music, i guess we just have to wait and see how their new album sounds.

Lead singer says that they've completely switched up their style - their nu metal days are apparently over.

Let's just see what some other songs are like though.

LP is the Nickelback of nu-metal.

Nah, they're much better than Nickelback - much more emphasis on melody. At least LP in the past have incorporated sounds of hip-hop and electronica into their typical "radio-rock".

I used to think linkin park was pretty heavy back in the day. In fact, the song 'crawling' used to shock me with the 'screaming' vocals.

I was really excited about Linkin Park finally coming out with a new album as well, especially after all the rumors that one was going to be released 2 years ago, and others saying last year, so now they actually have the date set. I did, however, just find out that their latest album bears the Parental Advisory label which is kind of disappointing. That was one (of the many) things that I really admired about them.

I miss the old Linkin Park. Their first album was awsome, sadly they have gone down hill from it. If they released an album in the style of their first I would buy it in an instant.
