After God created the heaven and the earth, He created light, separated the light from the darkness, called the light Day and he called the darkness night, and the evening and the morning were the first day, Gen 1:3-5. Every day we see anything, or understand anything, we can be reminded of God, for without light we would not be able to see anything. Other verses that come to mind on this subject are Ps 27:1 “The Lord is my light and salvation;” Isa 60:19,20
“The sun shall be no more thy light by day; neither for brightness shall the moon give light unto thee: but the LORD shall be unto thee an everlasting light, and thy God thy glory. Thy sun shall no more go down; neither shall thy moon withdraw itself: for the LORD shall be thine everlasting light, and the days of thy mourning shall be ended.” Jn 1:4,5 “In him was life; and the life was the light of men. And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.”
Rev 22:5 “And there shall be no night there; and they need no candle, neither light of the sun; for the Lord God giveth them light: and they shall reign for ever and ever.
