Light and fluffy, they are feeding
What the people think they’re needing.
Feel good messages are their shelter,
But now they are helter-skelter.

Life with frolic is a plenty,
But the truth, now who’s got any?
Lies galore and misplaced feelings,
Have them on the line they’re reeling.

Keep it light, now pitter-patter,
So they know not what’s the matter.
Make excuses, feed their habits,
So their noses in their tablets.

Tell a joke, and tell a story,
Make it light or make it gory.
Entertain them, keep distracted,
So to sin they are attracted.

Keep them laughing, roll in aisles,
Keep them grinning, see those smiles.
Don’t get serious, no not ever,
Keep it light and keep it clever.

Hide the truth so they not knowing
That their lives they’re surely blowing –
Walk in sin, no life in Jesus,
If obey not God who feeds us.

An Original Work / August 27, 2022

“Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?’ And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness’” (Matthew 7:21-23 ESV).

Matthew 7:21-23 to me screams of having a relationship with Jesus, even their mighty works has 0 impact on their salvation. Many people sit in congregations never having set up that relationship. It's saddening because they think they are ok.

Jesus, I David pray that you know me on that day even if my crown is bent and twisted. But you know me ! But you really do know me, I gave my life to you in 1979 and I know you, your Spirit dwells in me PTL. My works are feeble Lord but I trust you in all things !

Dave, that isn't what it says. It is talking about all people who make a profession of faith in Jesus Christ, if it is lip service only, and performance only, but obedience to the Lord is not their practice, then they will not enter into the kingdom of heaven. And many more verses say the same thing, such as Gal 5:16-21; Gal 6:7-8; Rom 2:6-8; Eph 5:3-6; Col 3:5-10; 1 Co 6:9-10; 2 Co 5:10; 1 John 1:5-9; 1 John 2:3-6; 1 John 3:4-10. And it isn't just that we must walk in obedience to our Lord but we must not walk in deliberate and habitual sin and we must love and not hate our brethren.

Our salvation is not a one-time thing that takes place in our lives which guarantees us heaven when we die regardless of how we live. Our salvation is progressive sanctification and it will not be complete until we go to be with the Lord, if we do, and provided that we continue steadfast in walks of obedience to our Lord (walks of faith) until the very end. We can't quit half-way through and abandon the faith but still claim heaven as our eternal destiny. Remember that the way to eternal life is narrow and few find it but the way to destruction is broad and many follow it.
