  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I grew up attending church every week. We never missed a service, therefore I was aware at a young age of the Bible and I learned of its captivating stories. When I was 4 1\2 years old I became concerned with my spiritual state. I wasn't sure of what happened to people when they died, or what would become of me when I died. My parents explained that I was separated from God because I was a sinner. Romans 3:23 says, "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God". That really got my wheels turning. I didn't want to be apart from God. After 3 weeks of questioning my parents, they sat down with me one evening and explained John 3 verse 16. For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believes in him shall not perish but has everlasting life. Then it finally made sense. All I had to do was ask Jesus to be my savior! He gave his life for me because of my sin. That evening I thanked Jesus for going to the cross, taking on the sins of the world, and shedding his blood to his death to save me of my sins. What is even more encouraging is what I learned of next. Jesus death saved me from my original path to hell, but he also rose from the dead 3 days later, and is living in heaven where I will see him someday!!!

My savior has given me a wonderful Christian family, and so many countless blessings. He has lead me to a community college where I graduated with a medical assistant certification, and I now have one year left before finishing dental hygiene school. God has been challenging me all through college to stay faithful to Him. I have to remind myself that He is faithful even when I am faithless. "I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me." Galatians 2:20
