  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Life Science 4 Creationists, My New Website!

If you follow the link you will notice that it's a busy page but not a lot going on. I tried to get a little creative with it (no pun intended) and I'm pretty happy with how it turned out. There is a discussion forum that is intended for Creationists who are looking for a forum that is user friendly for them. Mostly the site will be my own personal resource pages but I'm half hoping it will become a place where Creationists can meet and exchange ideas.

Other then the Home page I haven't done much with it. I just wanted to start a thread and invite you guys to come and check it out. I'd be interested in any comments or suggestions about the site, but be gentle, this is my first serious attempt at web page design.

Grace and peace,
Mark

Good stuff. I hit the first one. The complexity of Creationism demands an arena immune to derailing and distraction from Darwinian speculations.

I know from gallup polls that Creationists who believe in a young earth and the special creation of Adam outnumber alternative views. You would never know it to come to one of these discussion forums, creationists are attacked immediately and constantly. It's the same all over except for Evolution FairyTale and some of the most active posters are evolutionists.

At any rate, glad you liked it and if you have any ideas on how to improve things just let me know.

Grace and peace,
Mark

Appreciate your effort.
Too bad that I do not know much about biology. I guess the site should be a good place for creation biologist.

I don't know what your problem is but your out of line.

My bad, came in on the fly and thought you said I didn't know much.

It was stupid but if your interested in the subject maybe I can make it up to you. Biology has a history and a really interesting one. There is so much out there, especially with regards to genetics that you can't help but find something of interest.

I'm not trying to plunge you into the deep end but I can tell you the most important thing you need to know. Darwin contributed philosophy, for the genuine article of science I have two words for you, Gregor Mendel.

Gregor Mendel pages

Try the first link and if you can pick up on the first four points indicated it makes a good foundation for a comprehensive exploration of Life Science.

The link on the left is a lecture that left a lasting impression on me. I went from being bored with the same tired old arguments to an admirer of Mendel. I would have lost interest in the subject matter had it not been for genetics.

Understand Mendel and the basic cell parts and functions are child's play.

Again, sorry about the misunderstanding, it won't happen again.

Grace and peace,
Mark

Site still needs major works.

Header is designed to look like links but isn't.
Most Links lead to blank pages with no information.
Design changes from Main page to sub pages
Forum skin doesn't match Main page skin.

Yea it's pretty messed up, I have a lot of work to do. I may have to start over but it was fun putting the first one together. I have no idea what the WC3 check is talking about but I fixed the link. The Home page will eventually have links (maybe buttons) in the rainbow looking table but I haven't built enough actual pages for that to be important. I need a text based page with images and a few tables and an occasional embedded media, that's it.

It will take a while to get the redesigned web pages up but I think I'll leave the old one up until I get something better together.

Thanks for your help,
Mark

I feel sorry for you guys.

Evolution is well, real. You use your evolutionarily derived powers of reasoning and intellect to argue against it. Just get over it.

Define evolution.

Big improvement in layout, design & coding
(Though most people will have the e-mail as a mail link ;) )

Now to skin your forum to match the front page.
Also on your bible page, you may want to either put link or popups for the full verses in context for all your Bible references.

Glad you like it, really couldn't do anything with the other one. I'll work on the link as I get the time. Right now I am going to focus on getting a few pages up.

Now to skin your forum to match the front page.

I hear you but I'm still struggling with the whole CSS style thing. I'm just happy I get all the images to work right. An improved version is in the works but how long it will take will be...well...as long as it takes I guess.

Also on your bible page, you may want to either put link or popups for the full verses in context for all your Bible references.

That's a great idea, I know a great online resource I could link for further study.

Appreciate your input.

Hi Mark
Thanks for your labors in building your site.
I visited it, but wasn't sure how to get involved in any discussion. Probably my impatience.
I'm a creationist and have been off-and-on interested in the evo/creation debate for the 50 or so years of my Christian experience.
In recent years I have read (or listened when possible) extensively in the I.D. literature, and believe such guys as Behe have made tremendous contributions that are highly destructive of Darwinianism and its derivatives, particularly in the field of molecular biology. But their rather cavalier and dismissive attitude toward new-earth creationists has continually baffled me, particularly as most of these men seem to be serious Christians. As we learn more and more about the obviously designed complexity and genius of the cell, a la Behe et al., and cannot but wonder at the power and wisdom of God the Designer, how can we still balk at the idea of a young earth, how can we set our intellects above the wisdom of the scriptures, and how, in view of how it makes nonsense of the fall, can we still give credence to this cockamamie notion of common ancestry?
Best wishes for your site. I hope to have opportunity to peruse it and make the odd contributing remark.

Hi Mark
Thanks for your labors in building your site.

I needed the site as an online resource. I have long hoped that I could help creationists take an interest in the life sciences. I think it's vitally important to the discussion of origins.

I visited it, but wasn't sure how to get involved in any discussion. Probably my impatience.

There is a button for the discussion forum. I am not expecting a lot of traffic any time soon but if your ever interested just hit the forum button, register and post whatever you like. You might drop me a PM since I might not be aware of the post for a while.

Most creationists don't like the fact that ID does not go far enough. Me personally, I don't like the fact they have nothing to say about human evolution from apes. With Behe I wish he could get into more of the molecular mechanisms, I mean something like cellular architecture would make a ample area of skepticism for Darwinian evolution.

The Scriptures speak clearly to our lineage and our true lineage is found there. We should not be surprised that the natural man cannot receive the things of God since they are spiritually discerned.

By the way, I have been a Christian for almost 30 years and for the last 10 years I have developed an interest in Apologetics and Creationism. I realize the intellectual side of the Christian faith is not vital to Christian conviction but it is important none the less.

Best wishes for your site. I hope to have opportunity to peruse it and make the odd contributing remark.
Kennesaw

You would be very welcome to contribute whatever you like. I built the site for an online resource for these endless debates but also to give creationists a place to talk among themselves. These forums are under constant attack from evolutionists, whatever the site becomes it will never host evolutionist attacks on creationism.

Grace and peace,
Mark

Westman Bible Conference

It is't big but they have the talks on mp3 download, kinda nice for those of us who work alone all day long.

I added it to the resource page, thanks for the link:

BTW, I recently updated and improved the site somewhat. Right now I'm working on getting the site working like it's supposed to. I'll be adding more pages as I progress from the construction phase to actually writing more.

It's really more of a blog then anything else so I'm anxious to get on with the writing. If you are so inclined your prayers would be appreciated.

Grace and peace,
Mark
